1991 Honda Fourtrax 300
Just picked up a 1991 Honda fourtrax 300 in pretty nice condition
Want to do a few upgrades just as brakes first.
I want to install a front disc conversion but every vendor such as highlifter super Atv all list for 1992 and up.
Why is this? I thought they were all the same. Seems like every option I try to upgrade is only for a 1992 and up. The 424 kit is the same!!
Do I have a year nothing is offered for??
Thanks for the help!!
Anything To Look Out For When Buying A Sportsman 570?
Was originally going to buy an Arctic Cat 500, but thankfully (in hindsight) the dealer sold out of the 2016’s with the rebate before I could get up there. Now looking at the 2016 Sportsman 570 which seems like a LOT more bike for just a little more money.
I’ve only ridden sport quads in Florida, and hoping the 570 is sporty enough for me. Slightly concerned about the weight and being able to toss it around, but I think it’ll be a better fit overall for trail riding in New England much more so than a sport quad.
I’ve searched the forum up and down before joining, and it appears like the general consensus is it’s not worth the extra cash to get the 570 SP model, but is worth it to grab the EPS base model.
Currently quoted $5700 OTD for the base 570, non eps.
$6800 OTD for the 570 EPS.
SP is like 8 grand plus!
Not sure if these are good prices or not, but thinking of starting a 570 youtube enthusiast channel or something to help with the costs of upgrades. Not into mudding, but would like aftermarket tires/wheels, maybe long travel shocks to get it to squat in the corners, and an exhaust with a fuel programmer to start.
Sound about right so far? Any tips or recommendations? Wondering if I should buy the warranty… looks like a bunch of people have had premature failures on some parts, but it makes me wonder if they bought from a low volume dealer with poor assembly/setup?
Thanks for any ideas!
87 trx 350 looking for shadetree?
Any woodworkers here? Tannewitz bandsaw picked up
Dad gave me the compressor, and it’s an old Speedaire 3Z395C 20 gal with a 1.5HP motor.
Was wired up to 220 when I got it but I swapped on a 110 plug (20 amp) and and redid the motor connections to convert to 110.
Now I’ve got to get an outlet in the carport wired up to handle 20 amps.
The Tannewitz was set up for cardboard so has a HUGE table, and was in great shape. Was NOT fun to load and strap down though, and we got some funny looks driving down the highway with it.
It’s about 9 feet tall, and is parked in the shop still on the trailer at the moment.
A Little Scouting with Speedy
One had a little damage from a tree top that had blown out of a nearby tree.
And a few riding pics of speedy on the trails.
Wiring kits question for those with firsthand experience
I’ve got a ’09 Sportsman 500 efi, running rough when hot and throwing 41,45,55. I was about to get an OTB kit for the temp sensor and TBap. But looking at their kits and instructions it seems like you’re just clipping the connector and adding wire to the end? Is the damage almost always at/in the connector? I’m worried that if I’ve got wire damage below the connector I’ll just be adding good wire on the end of bad and not fixing anything. Or am I misunderstanding how they work/how long they are??
Anyone who’s put the OTB kit on let me know if I’m offbase, please and thanks!
