1991 Honda Fourtrax 200 Type II leaking oil.

Hello
I have a 1991 Honda Foutrax 200 Type II that is leaking oil from the left side crankcase, there is a bolt that comes thru the crankcase that looks like it has a seal under it, the oil is coming from around this seal. It looks like this could be a place for recoil start to have been mounted from what I’m told. I don’t have a repair manual for the machine so my question is. Can I remove this bolt and replace the seal without having to completely disassemble the motor? I don’t want to remove the bolt and hear parts falling down inside the motor. I have looked at a parts diagram on bike bandit and I cannot see this bolt on the diagram. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Update on recon

i pulled the motor out today and i took the stator out and rigged the new one in it. after i put it back on the frame and hooked all electrical components together and and it is clicking from the starter. if i need a new solenoid i have a spare. all info is welcome.

95 fourtrax 300 runs bad up hill?

I picked up a 95 model 300trx 2wd from an old man down the street who literally drove to the mailbox and back every day for the past 20+ years on it, maybe 2nd gear was wide open for him. When he passed away I wound up with it and have been working on it to get it ready to use at the deer lease. It idles like a champ and runs around on flat ground with no load on it like a dream! Add a hill to the equation and it falls on its face. it never dies, just bogs down and surges. once you get back to level ground and off the throttle for a second or 2 it is good to go again until you get to the next hill. this can be a big hill or a small one, it doesn’t matter. any thoughts? it does it pretty much all the time after it warms up. fresh fuel, new air filter and an oil change 2 weeks ago.

carb issue? Maybe a clogged jet? I took the bowl off the carb and it is relatively clean, a couple pieces of junk and 2 ants, but otherwise it was clean (considering the age of the machine I am impressed).

tie rod threads

finally got to putting them on, ball joints next. lucky for me i didnt read the part numbers correctly and got the right ones. micro fish shows 1 part number with an 8, but three with a 7. i got two 8’s an two 7’s. might find im wrong later. any whooo;
lots of oxidation on threads, so im thinking anti-seise, or grease. the anti-seise worked great on the muzzleloader, that nipple never stuck again. grease might stop that build up also. might have to throw in a lock washer between tightening nut’s also. what do you guys think? //Ed

2007 Foreman Trouble

I have a 2007 Foreman 500 and I’m having an issue. It usually happens when it’s warm and I’ve been on/off the atv few times. When I kill the motor I usually leave it in gear, when I turn the key on and start it up all is good.

The problem comes once I hit the gas. What happens is the rpms increase and I start to move, then the rpms cuts and then will come back up, then drop back out. I move about 6" each time the rpms rise. This also happens in second gear too.

To get it going again, I shift it into neutral and rev it a little, shift back into gear and away I go.

Any ideas?

ATV Guru front bumper install

Just got my ATV Guru front bumper for my 570. Kind of surprised it didn’t come with instructions. I know, I know….real men don’t need instructions.

Just curious before I get into it tomorrow that there’s nothing I need to note. It came with 2 long bolts and 4 flat washers. I assume these are for the upper mounts?
