Polaris Sportsman ETX – LO Battery

Hello Sportsman Owners,

Today I just tried starting my ATV 2015 Sportsman ETX.
The indicator is LO 9.8 or 10 on Dash.
The quad just ticks and barely turns over sometimes.
I guess this could mean low battery?

I read in this forum that you have to have a certain RPM in order for the Sportsman to charge the battery. Is this true for the 2015 Sportsman ETX base model? I do lots of night driving.

I drive really slow with my ATV. The person said you needed 4000 RPM?

I normally drive between 10-15 miles per hour.
Can this be an explanation for a Low battery?
Or do i even have a Lo battery with LO 9.8 dash indicator?
I’ve owned the ATV for a year.

Thinking about a new wheeler

I have an 06 800 that has been a very good machine. I let my brother borrow it a couple weeks ago and he rolled it. He was fine, but the wheeler sustained quite a bit of damage. Both front and rear racks busted, handle bars bent out, almost flat, headlight pod busted, steering stem bushings and bearing shot. I pulled it apart and will be ordering all the parts to make it good as new. But it is still an older machine and I am just thinking about buying another. Maybe an 850SP. I would do the 1000xp, but I can’t justify $11K for a machine to trail ride and hunt with. Input?

Brakes questions

Hi all, got a 90′ 300 fourtrax 4×4 not long ago. Got it for a cheap price so I went for it. This is my first ATV i’ve owned. Glad to be a first time honda owner. I am wondering about the brakes on these bikes. My bike has no brakes on it, the rear brake lever is seized and the front brake doesnt work.

I am wondering what are common things that go wrong with the brakes on these bikes? I have a friend who has a similar bike with no brakes either.
Additionally, I’ve been looking into brake conversions and seen that there is a conversion kit, however it is over budget for me as I plan to keep it cheap for this bike. Has anyone built their own conversions? I’ve been thinking about hooking up a set of brakes off a street bike motorcycle. Or would it just be as easy to rebuild her factory brakes?

Thanks all!
:happy2:

Stripped Drain Plug

I have a 2009 Trx250e and I took it to a place to have the brakes fixed and they said they would go ahead and do oil too. They ended up completely stripping out the bolt. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
(Mainly need to know what parts need replaced)
