Had a great time at badlands this week. Me and my buddy had the whole park (800 acres) to ourselves. This was our first time ever recording so video isn’t edited or trimmed.
Howdy friends. Last week my brother-in-law and I spent the day riding at our favorite spot, Little Sahara sand dunes in Utah. I rode his 2007 400EX most of the day and he rode his newly-acquired Yamaha Raptor 700R SE. We had a blast and both quads did awesome. I was impressed once again how hard this 400EX pulls and how well it keeps up with the 700R in general – until the climbs are steep/loose and 400+ feet tall. The 400EX has a K&N lid, K&N filter, Pro Circuit slip on exhaust, and professional jetting job.

This is the first few minutes of a night snow ride where we had to turn around because of deep snow. I was in the lead with my partner following with his Arctic Cat 500. The marks in the track are from his tires jumping up and down trying to get traction. The Temp was in the single digits and the snow was really slick.
My LED did a good job of lighting the way. I lost a lot of rear braking because of ice build up. The loss of traction going up the steep mountains in the deep snow and the brakes were the deciding factor to turn around. We were within a mile of making the top but had turn around at about 7000 ft.
Hi All, Nice to find this site. Finally bought my first quad, a 2004 Sportsman 500 H.O. 4×4. I love it. I look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone!
I don’t get it. My old 85 trx250a needed one so I bought a new Honda oem one. Hooked it up, wouldn’t work. Checked my wiring, made sure everything was tight and wouldnt work. I jumped the terminals and it worked. I tapped the solenoid and it started working. Worked for a couple weeks and died. I just bought another for a 96 trx300 I’m working on, exact same thing. WTH is going on? Everything checks out. I have power going into the solenoid (both solenoids) as verified by my test light, but that is where it stops. I tapped this one and it started turning over. This is pissing me off at this point, I have $120 wasted. I could have bought 10 POS China crap ones and come out better. Someone please tell me I am missing something or does Honda QC suck that bad now?
Hey guys, I’m about to buy a used 2016 850 Highlifter, but I am wondering… Do you think these are sellable on the used market? Would it be hard to sell vs a regular model?
I hope all is well! I’m seriously thinking about purchasing a USED 2016 Sportsman Highlifter 850 and have a few questions for you pro’s out there! Your help would be appreciated a ton! Here’s my questions…
1) It has a 2-inch lift kit – should I be concerned about this?
2) Anything in particular to look for when inspecting it? Air filter etc?
3) What’s the resale like on the highlifter? Are they hot products on the used market?
4) I’ve heard they are not the best on trails, true? I love the look of it but I don’t plan on doing any deep mudding. Maybe a little light mudding, but mainly ditch riding etc. Is it not going to be as fun??
