Hi, New member with a decision to make.

Hello everyone,
I recently traded a snap on tool box I had for a 2000 Polaris sportsman 335. The ATV appeared to be in pretty nice shape but after a good look over it has a few issues. I found that it needs new oil cooler hoses, the speedo is full of condensation and just stopped working last little ride I took around the yard, the rear brakes feel spongy and aren’t engaging, and I haven’t seen the oil cooler fan kick on yet, but its been cold, and I ride it for 10-15 min here and there. I also haven’t put it up on jack stands to check anything else yet, so more could be added to the issue list. The previous owner only used it to deer hunt, and it was stored outdoors under a porch awning year round. I don’t mind the sportsman, but I really wanted to trade my snap on box for a true sport atv because I already have a rzr800SLE to ride around for the 4×4 duties. I also Like to tinker with things, and upgrade things for better performance, and the 335 doesn’t allow for much tinkering, or performance at all. So I placed it for trade and was offered an 03 Polaris predator 500. The owner says the quad has had normal oil changes, and it runs and performs well. He says it starts hard in the cold weather because its an aluminum engine? but once started it runs good?? He also said it has @ 100 hrs on it and it hasn’t had any internal work done to the motor, clutch or anything. He has owned it since 05, bought it from the local Polaris Dealer, and says the only issue with it is it needs a temp sensor for the radiator, a $60 part, so the fan turns on. He said it operates fine without it, which worries me, because those cooling fans are there for a reason! But He insists its nice, except for the seat cover coloring is worn. I’m not sure If I should do it! I really want a sport quad, and this is the only offer I’ve had for a trade. Any advice from the pros on the forum to help the new guy out?? Thanks In advance!
