Engine Breaking

Still haven’t determined whether I like the EBS or not on my 570 SP. I previously had an 08 500 EFI which had ADC. I loved ADC because I live on a super steep property in Colorado, and have used it quite a bit. That’s was one (not only) of the reasons I went with the SP as I really wanted ADC.

When first started driving my new 570 SP I was shocked at the normal engine breaking (non ADC). I swear, the normal engine breaking is like driving my old 08 with the ADC on. I haven’t had mine long enough to use ADC on my new ride. But man, I wonder if I’ll even need it because the normal engine braking brings you to a stop quick. It’s even tough for newbies to try my 570 SP because they don’t expect such a severe braking by simply letting fully off the throttle.

I don’t think I ever wear out my break pads, I hardly ever need to touch the brake for anything other that high-speed slow downs. I’m getting used to decelerating, rather than a full throttle let off. But I sort of which that EBS could be turned off – just like you don’t have ADC on until you intentionally turn it on. And machines with ADC – why even put EBS on them because there is always the option to switch over to ADC.

Am I nuts here? Are there people with SP that actually like the standard EBS?
