Looking at upgrading to XP900

Hello rzr fellowship I currently have a 2012 800s that I’ve just did the pinion nut repair trick to and have been thinking about a different rzr

After reading around the forum it seems like the XP900 has the lease amount of buggy problems so I’ve started looking for one of these machine’s to replace my 800s

75% of my riding is dirt roads and logging trails with a ride into town twice a week 25 miles round trip the rest is driving in heavy woods and swampy areas

What should I be looking for (problems) when I look at a used XP900 I’m looking at basic machines without alot of upgrades "I would rather do upgrades myself" I prefer the fox 2.0 shocks and I think a model years of 2013-2015 also I really like the 60" wheel base compared to 50" and a 2 seater only

This will probably be the last rzr I’ll ever buy since I’m 69 yr old now so I want a machine that will last the rest of my life

Any advice about these rzr will help me choose my next rzr ??

Rubber hub/axle nut covers PART numbers for XP 900 and others.

I had a hard time searching for these so i thought i would post. Here are the part numbers for the rubber covers that cover the axle nuts on the XP900 11-14, which i believe NONE came with from the factory. Front 5413215 $9 …..Rear 5413976 $1. So for $20 you can get all four. These are used on other Rzr and Ranger models just not ours. I know most wheels have center caps but my open face DWT sand tires do not and these just look cleaner and cant hurt. They are 2 distinct caps as the front have internal lips to hold them where as the rear have external lips to hold them, no idea why one costs 10X more than the other. I have installed these and they work and look better than exposed nut.

Starter drive ??

Some times, not always, when I try to start my car the starter drive does not engage. The starter is new and I have checked all the idler gears and the gear on the flywheel but sometimes it will not turn over the engine.
Other times it will engage, turn the engine over and start it as normal.
The idler shaft has been replaced and it is tight in the engine case.

This has me stumped as to what is causing this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Rzr 900 xp fuel vent line need help please

Hi everybody
moved from 800s to new 900xp 2014
every time i stop or slow i smell a fuel gas in the cabin. checked every thing
and all seem tight and installed correctly. but i want to know the fuel tank vent line where it should be attached?? mine is just vented to the atmosphere.
i think it should be routed to the air intake or intake baffle. please if somebody can help me and let me know where it should be routed.

voltage regulator possibly permanent fix???

hey guys and gals i have a 12 rzr 900xp (love it) but my vr just went out moving snow yesterday here in Nebraska. after doing some research i have come to the conclusion that the problem is the stators put out more amps than the stock popo VR can handle. i have found that the stators put out roughly 65 amps so after doing a little digging on the internet i have found that the 98-99 honda vfr 800 street bike has a 65 amp VR. it also has the 3 wires from the stator but the only difference i can see is that it has 2 positive wires and 2 neg wires coming out of the VR i looked at the wiring diagram for it and it should theoretically work?? has anyone tried using one of these VRs??? another plus is that they are cheaper than any VR i have found (105 bucks on ebay)

any input would be great im torn between trying this or trying a ricks(but i cant not find one that fits a 12 rzr 900 on his website my oem part # is 4013904)

Rackzilla with SuperATV EZSteer?

I have a SuperATV EZ Steer on my 2012 Xp 900 and now need to replace my rack. Ordered the Rackzilla – seemed like a great fit. The pic when ordered did not show a steering wheel shaft but it came with one. I assumed it just bolted up to stock the same as any other rack.

Does the shaft used on the SuperATV EZ Steer not fit the Rackzilla? Is anyone using an EZ Steer with a rackzilla? I’m guessing now I need to have some welding done….

Exxon Valdez like RZR

After 2700 hard miles in Ocotillo an an incredible Moab trip my 2013 900XP 4 began to drink a quart of oil every 50 miles. It still started and idled perfect and I never noticed any smoke. After a few (OKAY..OKAY…A lot) of calls to Fernando, Nate and George at Alba Racing I new I had ticking bomb on my hands and I would end up cooking the whole motor. The guys squeezed my little oil burner into their schedule.

In a day I had my answers. The valve guide and exhaust valves we leaking and my rings and pistons were shot. The cylinder head is fine and can be reused. The mini-Valdez will be done sometime next week. I thought about going big on the motor, but then images of my wife flashed through my head.

An almost stock RZR and a happy wife is certainly better than a beast of a RZR, being broke and a pissed of wife…..right….someone tell me I am right…

PS. The guys at Alba Racing, Fernando, George and Nate are the best people I have had the opportunity to meet in the RZR industry.

PEP Steering Stabilizer install

So I bought some used 900 part off a guy and he threw in this brand new PEP steering stabilizer. Only problem is Ive no idea how its installed and cant find anything online. If anyone has one, please snap a photo so I can see how it goes on.
