Does anyone have the what I think is valve train rattle after the engine is started. I have installed the Weller racing tensioner so it does not rattle on start up. It rattles after it has been running for approx 1 min or so. It sounds like the valves are making noise and then goes away.
at one time a few months back I saw a company that made a spring retainer for adjusting the ride height. it was a company that made them due to the stock ones getting seized up and not moving(problem I have now) it was a 2 piece retainer that clamped and had set screws but Ive tried finding them again now that I need them and cant. hoping someone will know what I’m talking about and can point me in the right direction
Here’s the story behind this. This is my buddy highlifter 1k im talking about. Its all stock. A few weeks back he was riding and torque twisted his prop coming from the trans to the carrier. Twisted it bad enough to where it was hitting the frame. I have heard a few guys doing this out in the dunes but never in the mud. So he took took it to the dealer and they fought with him about warranty. He then called corp. and talked with them. They decided to pay for the shaft but wouldn’t cover the labor. Keep in mind the bike is still under its factory 6 month warranty and is completely stock. So he get its back out of the shop and we go ride over the weekend. No issues, having fun and then he goes through a spot that I just went through along with some other smaller 4 wheelers. That "new" shaft that was just installed twisted off about 10" from the trans output. No 4wd.
I don’t get it. I get on mine hard and have had it bound up in some holes and never had a prop issue with the 32s. Plus many more of our friends havent had a problem. Hes on the stock 29.5 outlaws and cant keep a driveshaft.
One thing he noticed is this new shaft that broke seems to be hollow. He said the other one felt solid. Can anyone confirm what they should be?
Broke the primary clutch shaft yesterday. Anybody else done this? Is it possible to get the primary off now? Is it possible to get the broken end of the shaft out?
I was in Glamis this weekend and my belt finally let go. We were in the big dunes between Olds and Osborne. Hurt a snap and then a poof of smoke from the clutch exhaust. 2700 miles and a little over two years on that belt. It was mostly dunes miles.
I knew the belt was getting close to going, but was hoping for 3000 miles. Oh well.
Who ever says that can change the belt in 10 minutes must of never had the cords wrapped around the clutches. Lol!
Has anyone used the cheap axles offered on ebay? a company 8ten has a pair of rear axles shipped for $135. That sounds really cheap! Are any of these worth trying?
I’m installing a set of Zbroz offset A-arms. I’m trying to reuse the stock Polaris ball joints. After I removed them from the stock a-arms they moved freely and returned to center. On the new Zbroz a-arms they installed fine but the are very hard to move and do not return to center. I used a ball joint press tool and a hammer as a final adjustment.
These are brand new a arms, would they be compressing the ball joints or did the hammer / install mess them up?
Anyone know how I can tell if my 2014 1000 has a 2014 Clutch setup or a 2015 clutch setup? I recently bought a 2014 1000 4 and when I went to buy a new belt the dealer asked if I had a 2015 clutch on it but I don’t know how to tell if the clutch has been upgraded or not. Please help…
