Here is a good question. I have installed the HL snorkel kit on my 14 XP 1000 and the drivers side rear nitrogen canister must be relocated. Does it matter what position it is in? Can it be upside down….as this is the best position I can find to keep it out of trouble.
We’re still trying to figure out if we’re going to buy a RZR and a 900 S is what I was looking at, but then my buddy calls and tells me a guy on his job site has a ’14 1K with skid plates, bumpers, roof, nerf bars (or maybe rock rails) that he’ll let go for $15k. It’s only got around 300 miles and 35 hours on it. It’s in good shape, and he’s only selling it to buy a 4 seater.
Here’s the bitch of it. A few weeks ago I needed a trailer for an upcoming ATV ride and couldn’t get the 77 x 12′ PJ that I wanted, so, in a pinch I bought a Maxey ATV trailer. The floor is 61.5" by 10 ft., but the rails angle up to 6.5 ft wide. I could fit a 900 S on it, but I would have to modify or sell it if I bought the 1k. Since it’s new with only one 200 mile trip on it I’m thinking the depreciation loss would offset the great price on the 1K.
So, is that too good of a deal to pass up? Around my area there’s quite a few for around $16,500 and up with more hours / miles, so it seems to be, but I don’t know how much wiggle room there is in those prices. Granted, I also wonder if I should just buy a 900 S from Polaris of Benton, stick a few upgrades on it, have less money in it, and know that it should work with my trailer.

So I just bought a new 1000xp. On the spec sheet it says it is 9ft 11inches. I have a toy hauler that has a 10ft cargo bay. I went to load it up tonight and the Rzr is more like 10ft 1inch. I let the air out of the tires to squeez it in but I am afraid it will rub the walls and cause damage. My thought is to find cheap rims and put some low profile tires on them to get the room I need. Any one have this problem and what did you do? Also does anyone know where I can get cheap rims so I can mount the low profile tires on them?

On the Fox Edition rzr, is it possible to install the springs on the front shock upside down? The right shock I put together and installed back on the RZR appears to have the top smaller spring upside down compared to the left shock, because the spacing between the coils is different between the 2 shocks (just the upper spring). I kept all the parts in order when I swapped the springs so maybe those smaller springs are supposed to be that way? If anyone can post a picture of the front shocks on the Fox Edition that haven’t been modified that would help me out.
Does anyone know how much to torque the front sway bar bolts? I couldn’t find this in the service manual.
Also, what kind of grease is best to use for the zerk fittings on the a-arms and sway bar? I have Maxima blue waterproof grease, but that doesn’t come in a tube for a grease gun…

So I just bought I brand new 2015 xp1k today, I got home to my property unloaded my new toy and drove it out into our field after 10 mins of driving the rzr (slowly 20mph) lost all power and felt heat behind me when I looked I saw my engine was on fire within a couple minutes the rzr was completely involved in fire and burnt to the frame. I am in shock after my first 10 mins of driving my brand new razor is caught fire, the only thing that could have caused it I could think was a fuel leak on to the engine or exhaust. I hope Polaris will do what’s right and replace my very expensive investment. Hope this never happens to anyone else !
