I recently purchased a primary clutch off this site and when I got it in, one of the fins on the rear of the stationary sheave was broken. Has anyone else broken one of these, and is it OK? To me it seems like it would cause some imbalance and I don’t want to damage the crank or anything. I also attached a picture of the slider bearing behind the spider. Does this look messed up? Its like the finish is coming off of it.
Also, when I am driving the RZR, and let off the gas, when the primary begins to spread apart again, the secondary seems to hold open for a slight period (causing slop in the belt since it is no longer engaged to the primary which has begun traveling back open) then the secondary begins to move back together which causes a "whirring" sound and what feels like EBS. Is this normal, and have I just never noticed this before? It seems noisy. The cover was off for this when I was noticing all of this, so I could see what was going on.
well here it goes i changed my front wheel bearings the old fashioned way by using the old bearing and a hammer, everything went good until I went to put my wheels back on. it seems that some how the arm that the tie rod end bolts on to got bent maybe and now the tie rod bole hits the inner wheel and I cant get my wheel back on ffs. any 1 ever had this happen and how did you fix it don’t really feel like dishing out 300$ for new hubs. thinking maybe if I heat it up and whack it with a mini sledge hammer I might be able to get it back far enough
I recently fouled my plugs and trying to see what most likely would have caused it.
Not using oil, compression is 185-190 on the fresh bb kit and rebuilt head.
Kinda looking at 3 things:
I had ngk iridiums in an 8 heat range, put 7s in it now. Thought the small bump in compression would be ok but looks like they possibly weren’t hot enough because the idle on the 7s is already much smoother then before.
Alba fuel programmer is on the rich side maybe, however I ran it all summer and early spring in varying temps without issue just a strong fuel smell but figured it was normal since the efi is so basic and exhaust has no cat.
The tbap sensor, thinking of just replacing it to simply eliminate it from the list. There aren’t any trouble codes thrown but didn’t know if it will throw one or not if it’s giving wacky readings or going into a default mode and running really rich.
I am in the process of tearing down a 2009 800 S to put it on a new frame due to accident damage…
Having never owned one of these before I am looking to see what upgrades I should do to it while it’s torn down? Clutch Perhaps?
Any insights you have are appreciated.

I have a 2013 rzr s with 2" spacers all around, im looking to put 30" monster mayham tires on it, 30 x 9 x 14 front and 30 x 12 x 14 in the back, is this a good choice? what kind/brand of clutch kit would be best? will I need a lift?
Hey guys, I have a guy trying to sell me a 2009 rzr 800s but I don’t think it is an S model. It dosent have the fox shocks on it and it dosent have the S on the graphics where it says RZR. Is there any thing else I can look for to detriment if it is an S or not? Thanks for your help.
It is posted on craigslist in the New York, Long Island section.
Just new to the RZR world.
So I am looking for info on a few things that usually cost little, and help a lot.
I found the Irridium plugs on here (Thanks) they make quite a difference.
Does anyone upgrade the coils for better spark ?
Fuel injectors, is there different / better ones to use ?
I ordered a mild clutch kit, the Polaris one is a bit sloppy on take off.
Another thing I noticed is the front tires seem to be out of alignment.
Is there a measurement for tie rod length so I can check it ?
Does anyone have a place in Canada where I could get something similar to dave’s complete bushing kit..
I know the price is good on dave’s site for the US but right now with the dollar being so discustingly low buying a set from dave will cost me over 500$.
