900s with no lift.

How many people are running 29.5/30" tires with no lift? I’m going to be getting a 1000s but from what I understand the 900/1000s are the same besides the motor and a few other things. Pictures are appreciated

Shock Therapy Upgrade

In preparation for our upcoming October trip to Moab, I decided to go ahead and make the jump to a set of Shock Therapy shocks. We tend to bottom out quite often on the Colorado rocky trails. This was evident by the worn out OEM upper springs which were already rubbing the paint off after 200 miles!!

I fully expected to have to get both new springs and a lift kit but I was hoping the springs would raise the RZR enough to not need the lift kit. Pretty easy job for a novice hack like myself. No major incidents or heartache in the process.

A few things I learned:
– You need the spring compressors. Without them, this would have been a major pain.
– You will gain some ride height, but it isn’t a huge amount.
– Ernie and the Shock Therapy team are awesome! They gave excellent advice, great feedback and the springs were at my doorstep in 3 days!!

Here are a few pics to tell the tale!

The kit came well packaged and with plenty of swag to boot!

Everything was well labeled also!

The old ride heights were 8.5" in the rear and 11.5" in the front.

The comparison between the new springs was impressive, especially when comparing the front springs

The total gains in height were 1.5" in the rear and 3" in the front.

I completed the install on Friday night in about 4 hours and we took the RZR out for an easy ride up Peru Creek and Chihuahua Gulch trails to see how she ran.

The ride was definitely smoother…significantly so in fact! The RZR took the bumps and rocks with a lot less feedback. The RZR did tend to lean a little more than before when turning. Plus the sag in the rear when hitting bumps was more pronounced. I caught myself bottoming out on rocks I wouldn’t have in the past.

Both of these facts are to be expected when dealing with a softer suspension and are a fair trade off when you consider the weight the RZR is carrying (I’m 6’5" and 275lbs alone. The wife and all of the gear we carry adds another 250lbs easily).

I guess I’ll be on the phone with Ernie tomorrow morning to get some suggestions for a lift kit and go from there. I’d definitely buy them again.

Just bought a used 2015 Rzr s 900 and to my surprise…

I just purchased a used 15 s 900, as I removed control panel to mount my amp, to my surprise the wiring harness to my key switch had been removed and hacked up…It looked as if a 3rd grader tried to wire it. :rm_thumbdown:. Long story short the rzr is still under warranty and I was wondering if the dealer would replace the harness? I need to take it in anyway as it seems my voltage regulator isn’t working and almost all of my tail lights have blown. 🙁

The QuadBoss clutch kits for the RZR 900S!

Hey guys for those like me with the stock clutch primary and secondary I have been playing with clutch kits trying to put the best power to the ground. I first ordered the Quadboss big tire clutch kit which I later found was designed for 27" tires which the 900S has stock. This kit worked great and helped over stock but I still needed to rev a little more and I needed a little more lowend so I ordered the QuadBoss Mudder clutch kit. The mudder clutch kit is designed and recommended for 28-29.5" tires. Both these kits are designed for stock motor. Or atleast thats what it states on the instructions that comes with.
Both clutch kits comes with a white primary springs so clutch engagement is basically the same, The difference is the weights and the secondary spring.

My setup is BMP tune, HMF exhaust, QuadBoss QBT446 30" tires, RacerTech bumpers, Pro Armor seats, full Ricochet aluminum skids, and spare tire! So not light by any means.

Big tire clutch kit

Black/white secondary spring
Weights are EPI 60
With this kit I was taching 7800-7850 in high so I wanted to let it rev a little more. (I want to say stock rev was about 7600RPM) With this setup and draging with a stock RZR 900 we where real close to 30mph and he actually pulled me a foot or two up to this point but by 35mph we where side x side but this is when mine really started to stretch its legs and by 65 I was a head by 2 lengths, by 70 I was way a head.

I am currently running
White Primary spring
Black/Orange secondary spring
weights are EPI 60
With both kits being designed for stock RZR’s I decided to leave the lighter weights in to give it a try. If needed I will change them. I have just rode this down the road and back so far so I can’t say about the reving but it does have more lowend and it feels like it starts pulling at a slower speed. Before from a dead stock it would spin but it would track strait but now when it spins it wants to slide like it is spinning faster. Before from a 30mph punch it felt real strong but now from about 15mph it feels real strong and it revs up quicker. Hopefully next weekend I will get some more time on this and do some drags with a stock bike.

Clutches.

So I know it’s been asked a million and one times but I’ll be getting a 900 soon and I want have the stuff set in place to do when I pick it up. So anyone have any experience with Epi performance clutches? I was just looking around and trying to get info a good clutch setup. I’ do a lot of mud riding but I also do a lot of regular riding and hill climbs. Tell me some good info
