570 Intake Second try

Well after an awesome run at the Wells Nevada UTV rally I found out that my first attempt an Pre-filtration was not enough after finding both of my UNI filters plugged, the SLP intake grate plugged and the main filter so plugged that one of the edges had come unglued. I re-engineered it and this is what I came up with. completly disassembled the intake and removed the bed, cleaned everything and reassembled using RTV silicone everywhere. sealed the airbox and adapter plates to the bed, greased all of the rubber connections and installed larger clamps, snorkeled from the side adapter to the Donaldson 2 stage filter with a UNI filter on top. Hopefully this will fix my dirt problem. now just need to test it.

Bad week for tires and wedding rings

So I picked up my first rzr 2 months ago and it came 27" ams slingshot tires. I was out for a ride last weekend and blew out a rear tire. Ended up replacing both rears.

Wednesday I was out l, got stuck in a mud hole I had no chance of making it through, so when I got out to get the winch, I lost my shoe deep down. Pulling my shoe out I guess I lost my wedding band. I didn’t realize that until I got back to th cabin though. My cousin suggests we go back and look for it, so we spend half an hour digging through the mud when he realizes he has now lost his wedding band (his wife told him to leave it behind but he said it would be ok). So now we are out 2 wedding bands.

This past weekend we head back to the mud hole with a metal detector and manage to find my cousins wedding ring but no luck with mine. On our way back I hit the side of a rock in a rut and blew out 2 tires!

So I decided to upgrade to 27" mega mayhems! So far I am liking them although this has been an expensive week and I’m in the dog house! Lol.

Rolled 570 on its side

So long story short I let a friend drive my 570, i was in the passenger seat, he slid the back end out on some wet clay and caught a rut which tipped us over on the passenger side. We were not going very fast and were strapped in and other than being sore today neither of us got hurt.

The only damage i have found is the front bumper got pushed back a little, my top got bent up and it appears that the cage got pushed back just a bit also. Have not found any damage to suspension or drivetrain. My question is for anyone who has tipped their RZR on its side is there anything specific i should be looking at for damage?

Lesson learned if you are going to let anyone drive your RZR that is not familiar with them make sure your stress the fact that they can be tipped over pretty easy. It was not fun and I would prefer not to do it again. And i need to get harnesses. The seat belt did not keep me from slamming the ground with my shoulder, i think a 4 or 5 point harness would have kept me tighter in the seat.

Fox 2.0 or Bandit Trail

I’ve been reading over the forum for the past few days trying to decide which set of shocks to get. From what I’ve seen, both are probably a good choice. But I haven’t seen that many reviews of the Bandit Trail version. We mostly trail ride at fairly slow speeds, seldom over 20mph. Our youngest son, 3 years old, rides in the RZR. We’ve been riding in the mountains and the trails get a little rocky and really shake him around. I’m trying to decide which shock may be the best for us and to make it a little easier ride on him. I’m also curious if the higher spring rate on the Bandits would make it rougher. The last question I have is if anyone has tried both and what they thought of each.

Easy Performance Mod for Reaching Top Speeds

Remove your windshields :rofl3:

Seriously.

Yesterday it was a mere 102 degrees so I popped off the windshields and went out without Mrs Inhuman for a little spirited riding. I was pinging the speed governor in places I’d never hit the governor before; going uphill on a good grade — at 7000 RPM. It was running so good I challenged my kid for a drag race rematch in his Teryx.

As a bonus I had no in cab dust to speak of.

Moment of honesty, I do kind of miss the Ranger for those larger "road treasure" finds.

We needed some shelving lumber. This stuff is dang near brand new. Weird what people throw out in remote places.

Hope everyone had a great 4th.
