My 2005 Rancher keeps eating the splines out of the hubs. Can not keep hubs tight. I have replaced axle, bearing and hubs before and still have this problem. Help Please!
hello, trying to remove the pinion nut off a 1997 honda foreman 400 front differential. Ive tried everything by that I mean rigging tools and also tried 1 1/2 piece and it will not fit which everyone says it should. Im finnaly buckling down and buying the actual tool needed to take this out. I went and measured the nut and it shows 1 15/16 inches which converts to 50mm. The only pinion nut removers im finding are 60mm and 64mm and people have been saying the 60mm will fit but also people say the 64 will fit which does not make since because my caliper is showing 50mm. If someone can tell me where I can find a 50mm pinion nut remover it will be well appreciated!
I am purchasing a new 400ex this week, and I wanted to get some general advice from anyone who has some to offer on the proper care and maintenance for it.
I’ve had/have a few fourwheelers, and I’m good with tools, but I bought them all used and they already have their odd scrapes and squeaks and issues. I’d like to do everything possible to take the best care of this new one so it lasts as long as possible, and stays in the best shape I can keep it in.
I do nearly all my riding in the sand pits, so in particular I want to make sure that I’m doing the proper preventative maintenance for an atv that sees a lot of dust and sand.
So does any have any suggestions for me on what I should do to keep it running smoothly? Things like, clean the air filter every X rides, etc.
My main concerns are:
-keeping the frame from getting rusty or damaged
-keeping the suspension from squeaking
-keeping the engine running smoothly with it’s original power
-keeping the plastics in as good condition as possible
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks a lot!
I left my 87 Trx250x out In a light rain and at first it wouldn’t start at all then I replaced the plug n cleaned the carb thinking it was from my last ride cuz I did ride her hard, but after the plug and carb cleaning it was backfiring at idle did some carb adjustment and cleaned it religiously then It was high reving right when it started, I mean really high rpms. Messed with the carb more and more got it to idle good but any gas and It would backfire. Took it down the block within 100ft it died n wouldn’t start. Pulled off the valve cover adjusted the valves and checked the timing and put it all back together, started it in the morning and not it won’t stay running. Started up and sound like a good start but just dies out by the next breath. It’s got clean gas new plug new air filter. It’s getting gas air spark and seems to be in time so I’m thinking it’s electrical. Stator cdi rectifier? Two of the terminals on my stator are black but idk if those two should be or not. They may just be wrapped in a black material. Idk let me know what you guys think, I don’t just want to throw parts at it and that not be my problem.
My 2000 Honda rancher es, doesn’t move. It’s an automatic and four-wheel drive.
It starts and will shift into first gear and reverse, but doesn’t move. After a few minutes of running it completely stops shifting. So we turn it off and let it sit a few minutes, when we turn it on it shifts again.
It will not manually shift at all.
Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Rebuilt my 02 Rubicon a couple months ago and had to bore it .40 over. Quad has been running decent with a little popping on deceleration. Checked the plug today and it was white. I am already over 3 turns out on the mixture screw, so I know I need to go up on the pilot. My question is do I need to go up on the main as well?
Current Pilot is 45
Current Main is 158
Next pilot up is a 48 and the next main up is a 160.
