I love it but what are is weak points and things to watch for

Things I know are problems.
Eps works sometimes and the eps box has play. I’m pretty sure the relay is bad.
The exhaust is hot as hell with glowing head pipes but I read this is normal and the issue that concerns me the most is oil had gas in it.
I definitely don’t like the air box lid at all. Other that that it ate a modified brute and renegade in a drag for lunch

Seems faster

I have a 2014 850 xp. Just took it for a blast down the trail. Seems a lot faster for some reason. Must be broken in. Just have 135 miles on it with 23 hours. Anybody else notice a difference with alittle bit of miles on there’s.

850xp sportsman flywheel issue

Was having issues with the noise coming from the starter area after engine was warmed up. Tool transmission out today and found flywheel had been scrapping back of the engine. Has anyone seen this before and do I have to tear deeper into the engine.

Quick u-joint question

I just got my prop shaft out, it actually came out very easy. The u-joints I was sent are all balls and have the retaining clips on the inside and the ones from the factory are on the outside, I emailed the company before the sent them with all the bikes info and said these are ones I need, just wondering if they will work with the clips on the inside, the part number is A03-E6338 Universal joint 24MM. Bike is a 2011 850xp EPS

2009 850xp-steering knuckle fix ??

so my 2009 850xp came up with a lame knuckle the other day. I replaced the ball joints and added new hub bearings but this did not fix the wobble problem. I should have known when the new ball joint went into the knuckle with no problem.

I checked with the dealer, he said it was already serviced under the recall bulletin as I bought it used with 3000K miles on it. My build date was 7/14/2009.

If you can find one a new knuckle is 150.00 which I don’t want to spend after having to spring for new ball joints and bearings. Any potential work arounds to this problem??? The top ball joint moves the most.

I’ve seen posts about adding a shim or drilling a larger hole to accomodate a larger bolt, would be good to know if these options ever pan out in the long run ???

850 XP rad plugging with mud

Hey just wondering if anyone has found anything that worked to keep the rad from plugging up with mud so bad I have cleaned my rad until it’s spotless and then go out and me and my buddy both have 2014 850s and they are fine in the bush running the mud holes but as soon as you get on a stretch more then about 5 min they both overheat I know the xp’s rear slanted rad makes it prone to this and my friend is doing a rad relocate but I need my front rack so that’s not a option love the bike but really sucks when every other machine is going through the same holes and not ha I g a problem has anyone found anything to help with this thanks

Dash issue

I’m having a strange issue with the dash. I’ll describe what it is doing:

2014 sportsman 550 touring

The dash/gauges turn on and off, the lights blink rapidly then turn off, then back on. Turn signal light comes off, says lo bat, turns off, back on, all the lights flicker

Other then that, bike runs 115% perfect? I’ve followed the cables for awhile and seem in order.

I had some condensation this winter behind the glass, could that cause this?

If I need to replace the dash, can any sportsman dash fit, or does it HAVE to be a touring one?
