I have a 2011 polaris sportsman 500 HO and a few weeks ago while riding the speedometer cluster was cutting on and off. Now it won’t cut on at all. Is it the actual speedometer which $300 or is it possibly something else. Any thoughts?
I have a 2013 Polaris 500 h.o bought it brand new!
I have 2300 on the odometer.
This past Sunday I was riding an had noticed something funny Happening, never happened before.
Between 30km-60km when I give it gas or let off the gas it sounds like something grinding/ rattling like a heat shield, I looked over the entire bike nothing’s loose!
Kind of feels like/ sounds like it might be from the belt or clutch but I’m not 100% sure :/
Any suggestions on what it could be or what I should do?
From a Canadian who just wants to ride and not have to worry about breaking down over something, maybe I’m just paranoid :s lol
I have a 2011 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO and want to remove the front storage box and put just a front rack up there. I know they make them because I’ve seen pictures but can’t seem to find them anywhere. Anyone know where to get one?
As you may recall from my "Many Issues" thread, my Sportsman 400 really needed a carb cleaning. Well, I finally did that. Runs on no choke now, idles great and once at around 4500 RPM runs perfect and is more powerful than before. However, at mid throttle and on quick acceleration, it has a wicked bog and almost like a stutter where it’ll hesitate and run terrible until it kinda catches itself. I turned the pilot screw in slightly because I believe it’s running a little rich but it didn’t change one thing. Should I adjust the e-clip?:unknw: I’m starting to think I shouldn’t have even touched it.
At 10:45 in this video you can see what it’s doing.

actually, its whippin me and my wallet.
I hope somebody can help,Ive done search after search and I’m drawing blanks. Here’s the story:03 sportsman 90 ,has new battery, new stator, cdi box, starter relay, plug, carb, plug wire.Bike wont start! It has always run good, until one day it died and wont start. It turns over ,and has spark.
Ive tried jump starting it,nothing.Starter fluid, nothing. Im lost!Ive pulled the kill switch,it shuts off spark, and when plug the kill switch in,it sparks. So I know it’s doing it’s job.The left brake lever is doing it’s job, too.
I’m totally lost at this point.
ps.I’m not a mechanic,have limited tools.No volt/amp testers either,and I wouldn’t know how to read them anyway. please help

I have a 99 sportsman 500. I bought a new starter and starter solenoid from DB electrical. Can anyone confirm that this will work and do what it’s supposed to? Attachment 24575Thanks.
i picked up an 06 sportsman 700 efi recently. Put some 28 inch tires, 2 inch lift and a big guns evo u exhaust. First time I went and tried out some mud, it didn’t work in my favor. Little bit disappointed. It didn’t have enough power to get the tires spinning in 4 high to get myself out, and 4 low didn’t have enough wheel speed. I’ve been told since the wheeler is efi that I should change the air filter, and get a tuner. And I’ve also heard of changing the clutching. My question is what kind of tuner to get and what to do for the clutching? Thanks in advance
I bought a new sportsman 90 for my son and it just needs ground clearance.is there any wheel of of other Polaris atv’s that will bolt on or do I have to just buy talle tires.not looking for a mud slinger just where he can ride some trails with out getting hung up all the time.thanks for any info
