My Hawkeye 400

I brought it around mid 2014 and I think I now may have it setup for my requirements. Attached are a few pictures.

Not photographed but I quickly learnt (after 6 stakes on one trip) to replace the tyres with run flat tyres.
Also not directly photographed, I installed a Runva 3,500lb winch and following on the same principals of 4WDriving I installed a second battery.
I wanted to quieten the unit down so I brought a Kolpin run quiet exhaust… waste of money.
For the LED Bar light I utilised the wiring to the original highbeam light as this light is useless when gear is placed on the front carry rack.

Ignition Switch, sportsman 600

Ok, my ignition switch wore out last year on my 2004 (and a half) sportsman 600. I replaced it with knock off and it has melted on me. I was wondering if anyone can help with the actual switching in the ignition. When it melted, it melted the wire harness as well, so I need to cut it off. I was hoping to buy an aftermarket key and switch with a harness and just solder it into the wires on the bike. any info would be great. Not sure what is connecting and when?

W/r – Soloniod
R/bl – circuit breaker
R – Left Handle bar/Acc #1 (??)
R/w – Head lamp pod (??)
Bl – ETC/Awd
Br – Br SS (ground I think)

Changing the battery on a 2007 Sportsman X2 500 EFI

I need to change the battery in a 2007 Sportsman X2 500 EFI but I have no idea how to go about doing it. The battery appears to be in the most awkward location possible. The owner’s manual doesn’t seem to explain the procedure. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Sorry if this subject has been covered elsewhere here. I didn’t find anything on this topic, hence the new thread.

300 Sportsman Where is the oil coming from?

Wife has a 2010 300 sportsman. We were out for a trail ride and the quad suddenly quits moving. Still runs won’t move. Pulled the clutch/belt cover and it has about 1/2 quart of oil in it….not water..oil. Removed the primary and secondary clutches and found a seal behind the secondary but it looks good. What am I overlooking ?? This thing has been a money pit since I bought it so I really would like to fix it myself. Thanks for any help in advance.
