Exhaust Spring Service Bulletin

Check your mailboxes! Looks like any 1000 built before 1/5/15 is subject to a repair by polaris. They are going to replace the donut gasket and put in updated springs. I have already had mine done with about 1600 miles on the repair so far (2100 total miles on my XP). It still glows and gets hot, but no melting plastic or exhaust can falling off. At least they are trying to do something about it for the rest of us having these issues! I got my notice in the mail just now.

coolant overflow bottle overflowing

My coolant overflow bottle was overflowing with coolant on my last 12 mile ride. It didn’t do this or overheat during this ride or the previous 75 mile ride. The fan cycles.

When I turned off the machine to let it cool the fluid did not get sucked back into the radiator and the next day when it was cooled off i opened the radiator and it looked empty .

like I said the fan has been working… any ideas ?

Thanks
jim

2015 sportsman 1000 whining noise under clutch cover

I got a xp1000 37.2 hours and 155 miles Not even been driven to hard.. Go to take the kids out for a ride in the yard today and I started the motor and Immediately Heard the noise coming from cover the clutch cover.. Its not to loud and you can only hear it when at Idle.. Then it will go away for a few seconds but if you Tap the throttle and come back to idle you will hear it again.. It only does it when it is in park or Neutral ..If in any forward or reverse gear it goes away completely..

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks, Nick

check front drive shaft U joint roll pin!

Check your front drive shaft just behind the front differential u joint for the roll pin working its way out.

Mine is sticking out almost a half inch. I don’t know if it was like that originally from the factory or if it started working its way out in the 70 miles I have put on the quad since purchasing it two weekends ago.

Pictured just above and left of the zerk grease fitting.
