Went and got my first service done on my bike yesterday. Idk if its a big deal, but they told me there was a recall on the exhaust springs, they went ahead and fitted it. Just thought i’d let y’all know, if y’all haven’t already knew.
Just picked this up last weekend. Went to the dealer to get parts for my 08 800 and saw this beast sitting there. I just couldn’t resist. I take my 800 out on the river all the time and sometimes its hard to tell how deep the water is. Never had any problems with it though. Got water over the front rack once, but only found a little water in the air box. Reached under and pulled the plug and drained it and carried on. I don’t usually get in water that deep though so it shouldn’t be an issue again. However I have a few concerns with the new one.
First the vent in the back, (CVT Exhaust) anybody have any issues with it? Also where are the drains for the belt casing and the intake box? On the 800 I can pretty much reach in under it and pull a drain plug. The new one has has a lot more plastic covers and I cant find it.
I read that greasing the connectors is a good start, but any other suggestions? I thought about snorkels, but I don’t really like the idea of hacking up the plastics to install a snorkel kit.

Came down on a rock in just the right way this weekend so that it hit the bottom of my rim and put a tear right where the rubber of the tire sits on the rim; It’s not the rubber that sits behind the rim or right under it, but it is so close that you have to pull at the inner tire to expose the tear. You can feel air rush out of it when you try to pump it back up. I’m guessing it can’t be patched based on the location and the fact that it is a 3/4" tear rather than a puncture hole. Please correct me on that if I’m wrong.
I just called a dealer in-state and they want 180 for a new stock tire; this seems like a really high price. I’ve been thinking about getting a pair of these for the front: Sun F A 033 12 Ply Run Flat ATV Tires
However, the closest match to the right size for the fronts is 26x9x14 and my understanding is that our front rims actually take 26x8x14.
What does everyone think?
Are these tires any good?
Can the 26×9 tire still fit on the rim?
If I were to get new rims, would a 26x9x14 fit with no problem on our machine?
Am I wrong and could a tear like the one I described be fixable?
Does anyone have access to a .PDF or a link available for the torque specs for a 2015 Sportsman 1000 XP Touring –
Specifically the front end radiator support / shocks / pn#5632354 BULKHEAD-CAST – main front fender support cast piece?
Would be fantastic
Thank you in advance!!
Well I had bought a new 2015 Polaris Sportsman 850 SP back in Jan but after seeing what colors they came out with for the 2016 1000s Tourings the wife and I really liked the Bronze Mist color. I called the dealer and he told me there was only one left in the state of Oklahima so we jumped on it. We had been wanting a Touring for awhile now. Arrived at the dealer yesterday. I am going to have them swap over my rims and BigHorns to the new one and add my front bumper to it. I have been watching the heat releted threads and talked it over with the mechanic and he looked its vin up and it didn’t show a recall. It’s build date is 05-28-2015 so I am sure it would have the updated parts for it. I am taking my atv to them on Monday so they can get things switched over. Love the power of this thing. I took some pics of the exhaust so see if you guys can see anything different from the eailer builds.

When I picked up my new 2015 Sportsman 1000 XP Touring , you could not go over 25 mph without shaking you off the unit. After 4 sets of rims and 6 sets of tires,($900 out of my pocket for RipSaws) it turns out that it is the EPS unit had a bad connection. Dealer says that its good to at least 70 mph now.:add_twinkle:
