A buddy of mine has an 06 arctic cat 500 and he actually has a switch to manually lock the front diff. I know the 1000 XP doesn’t have a switch but you can tell a big difference when you put it in the 4×4 hill decent mode. When steering even with the eps it really feels like the front diff is locked and even doing a circle in the dirt you can tell and see that both fronts are pulling. So that leads me to the question in hill decent mode is the front locked?
Rode today on some back roads, muddy 2 tracks and some fields. In 6 days I have 213 miles on it and everyday this just puts a huge smile on my face!!!! This quad is absolutely amazing!!!!
P.S are the RZR led headlights an upgrade? If so where do I buy them??
Well I finally made my decision and yesterday came home with a brand-new 1000 XP. This machine is absolutely awesome! Yesterday alone I put 3 hours and 47 miles on it. I was riding with a friend who a month ago bought a new 2015 Rapter 700R and this sportsman with my 6’4 350 pound ass on it pulled on him everytime! This thing hits the speed limiter quick as well so I believe she has quite a bit left! Never thought in a million years I would need a winch but used it twice already! Yesterday to pull him out of the mud in his Rapter and today ran home on lunch and pulled a shrub for the grandparents. I bought the 2 year Polaris extended warranty and couldn’t be happier!!!
I notice on mine it gets harder to steer when it is put in 4×4. Like just not a little bit, considerably harder. Wondering if anyone eles with 1000 are experiencing this?
Has anyone tried filtering the air going into the cvt?If so what did ya’ll use.Would like to stop some of the dust from entering the cvt case without too much restriction.
Hi there!
As there are no informations available over here in Europe: any suggestions how and where to mount a fuel-pack (e.g. from Kolpin) on the Polaris 1000 XP at/on the backside quick-mount-system?
Thanks in advance
Wolfgang
Hello all I havent rode a quad in about 15 years. When I was 15 my dad took my mother and I to our local Polaris dealer and we all picked out new quads. I chose the 2000 Trailblazer 250 my mom picked the 325 trail boss and my dad the Scrambler 400. We had them for about 3 years and I sold mine to buy an 88 Mustang GT and havent rode since. I had a couple different Arctic Cat Sleds since but no quads. I abused the heck out of my trailblazer and never once had a single issue. I always said if I get another I will go back to Polaris. With that being said I have quite a few family members in the southern states that ride all of the time with a bunch of different quads. I was talking to them a couple nights ago and was strongly advised to stay clear of Polaris because the break down all of the time and motors are not reliable.
I want to buy the Sportsman 1000 XP and would like some honest opinions of there reliability. I have read allot on these forums the past few days and Im sure I hear more bad things because the people who have good experiences dont post. Lastly If I do go with the 1000 should I buy the extended 5 year warranty?
I live in SE Michigan my dad has allot of land to ride on and the inlaws have a place in northern Michigan surrounded by trails. I dont plan on going in 4ft deep mud and going swimming with it. Mainly just ride on farm land and trails.
Hey guys hope the trail riding is going good. I am looking for a exhaust. I really like the RJWC dual but they are very proud of them and should be. I have read that they are a great company and have amazing products. Is there any other ones that are better than the usual mass produced exhaust? I have looked at RVS performance and getting the clutch kit for sure next month and doing the diff fix, but did not find the HS exhaust for my bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated and hope yall have a great day.

Puled the trigger and bought a 2015 Sportsman XP 1000. So far with very little riding time (6 miles) I love the power of this bike. I’ve seen post of the exhaust getting hot, but was wondering if this is on the 14 & 15 model years bikes. I’ve notice the exhaust is different, from what I can tell, on the 2015 compared to the 2014. Could this be this fix for the 2015 model?
