after trying the spacers in the springs with the plow and finding they did nothing i started looking for options, best one for me was heavier springs, found these on ebay, they are polaris replacements, easy enough to install. im new to atvs and pulling bodywork to do stuff so that was the hardest part. as of now they gave me 2" of lift, firmed up the mushy ride, and help carry the plow so much better.
Went riding over the weekend with my girlfriend and after I ran thru a few puddles (not very deep, the water just barely came up to the bottom of the foot rests) then it felt like it the transmission was slipping. It would accelerate but not like normal. Matter of fact it hit the rev. Limiter and I was hardly moving. I thought I had read something on the forum here about this issue. So I removed the little red plug on the belt housing and maybe a ounce or two of water came came out. My girlfriend went thru the same puddle and had not issues or not water in her belt housing. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks in advance. I searched all morning and couldn’t find the article/post relating to this subject.
So i bought a 2015 570 base model.
My question is can i buy any plow (mount) or do i need to buy the glacier mount?
If i buy a glacier moint will any plow fit on it or just the polaris one?
(Picture for attention)
So I got my 2015 polaris sportsman 570 EFI last month.. Ive had nothing but problems with this quad
1. My drive shaft has something wrong with it, no idea what it is.
2. Both my left upper and lower CV joints are taking on water and there is NO rip in the boot. I took the axles out last night to look at the clamps and they are so tight and off center that the clamp itself cut the CV boot.. So i need 2 new axles for my brand new quad and who knows what the other 2 look like.
3. My seat is already unstapled on the entire left side.
4. All the heat shield protection on the inside plastics all came off as soon as a little watch splashed it and burnt on the motor.
5. My throttle box crapped the bed.. No idea why all the sudden my thumb piece just had nothing to it.. the wind could have blown it back and forth.
6. Both my headlights blew out as soon as I hit a little bit of deep water..
7. I always get my display telling me I have a low battery, no idea why.
And there’s loads of other little things that I could keep going on about but Its just not worth it.. I would be careful buying any sportsman now a days because the people who assemble them do an absolute terrible job. stick to Honda, suzuki, yamaha, artic cat and can-am. If I was allowed to I would trade this polaris in for a can-am in a heart beat.
I purchased my 2015 570 base model new in February, 2015, along with a 60" KFI Open Trail steel straight plow. Thursday, 12/17 was the first time I got to use the plow. We had just a few inches of wet snow, but I’ll take it! The 5 years previous to my Sportsman, I was riding a smaller Arctic Cat 366 with a much lighter plastic 52" plow. It did the job, but was no comparison to the Sportsman. This 570 pushed that much heavier steel plow through the heavy, wet snow like a champ. And I didn’t even need to chain up. We don’t get too much snow here, we might see one dumping of 6"-8", but otherwise pretty mellow. I was just really impressed at the way the 570 did the job.
So we are looking at getting a couple of inches this weekend and I am chomping at the bit to get my new SP out there for some fun! Hoping for 5 inches or so, which should be enough to make things slippery and FUN!
Never thought I would be wishing for snow (other than hunting season) but I just want to get out riding in it before I get sick of moving it.
Sounds like we’re going to warm right back up after the weekend so I am looking at this as my window of opportunity. No thumb or hand warmers so I know I wont be out all day but I sure want to make some fun of it.
I’m not going to plow with this one, though. And once they salt the roads this machine is not going to be on the trailer very much or will be completely cleaned before I put it back in the garage. I saw what the winter did to the plow frame and mechanisms on the other one over the last couple of seasons, and I decided that my $150 snowblower is much better suited to move the white crap than my $8,000 ATV.
ok just installed my polaris rubber spacers in my 15 touring, they fit real loose, i turned them all the way down till they tightened in or i think they would fall out. i put one in on a jack thinking i needed to, the other slipped right in. do the tours have different springs in the front then the others? the spacers say "all polaris atvs"
