Hey guys what’s up. I’m a little rusty in the Honda pages cause I’ve been on all the Ford Ranger pages. Lol. Now it’s time to catch up. I’ve done some searching, but I couldn’t seem to find any threads on power for Honda recons. I know it’s not a racing quad, but I would like some more power out of it. And of course, the cheaper the better. Lol. I live my recon cause it’s very versatile and I need the utility aspect, so sport quads are a no. I’d like it to as least be able to have a higher top speed than my rancher which is 51. And my top speed is about 45. Any help guys!!

Will an exhaust tip help or hurt me when going deep??
I want to do an exaust tip to my rincon. I’ll probably just make one, but my question is…… When my exaust goes under will this hurt the machine cause the hole is bigger switching from a 1" to a 2"?? If it hurts it I will leave the stock on. But I want a more deep crisp sound out my quad! :icon_ lala:

Rancher irs gear reduction questions
Ok guys so I bought a rancher 420 at (independent rear suspension model) last Sunday and I have a long list of mods I plan on doing. Anyways one of the first mods come summer when I get the money will be wheels and tires. I’ve decided on 28x10x14 silverback x lites on 14" msa battle wheels In a 4×3 offset. I know mine won’t pull these with the high hearing of the at (my brother had the same quad before he got his brute force and he had 26" skinny wide x lites with stock gearing) and I’m planning on installing the rancher sra (solid rear axle) secondary/final gears in it so that I will be able to turn these tires sufeciantly. I have read a ton of threads on the installation and there is a guy on here that did a great write up but it was for an sra. I was wondering if anyone could possibly post a wrote up for me of them doing this mod for the IRS model rancher that I have. Thanks
2002 450FE back firing
Ive noticed lately my bike backfires more and more. I have read that my old rusty exhaust could be the culprit. If i turn the idle up a little it doesn’t do it as much. If it is the muffler, any suggestions on a new one? I saw how expensive OEM ones are. I use this bike for woods and mud so I’m not looking to restore her. Any advise would be great. Thanks guys.

2000 400 ex 426
Ok so I’m getting a bore on mine. I want the 426 cause the more power. Question is. With the 426 should I get a new sleeve or will my stock be ok? Wiseco makes a piston for the bored stock sleeve but the guy at lasleeve said it makes the walls thin. How likely am I to burn it up with stock sleeve? Could I use stock sleeve and maybe just a bigger oil tank?
2000 400ex up to 426. what do I need.
Ok guys. I blew the motor on my 400ex. Pretty sure the guys before me just ragged the cap out of it and it was in the making. One of the piston skirts just exploded. I just sent the head to LASLEEVE to get bored up to a 426. I have a fmf slip on exhaust and a stage 2 hot cam. What else do I need to upgrade for the 426 to run the best? Do I have to get a new sleeve or could I still use old one if it’s not too bad? New valves? Port and polish? And what compression? I’m going wiseco and run premium pump gas sometimes with octane booster. Sorry its so long. Thanks for the help.
400ex jetting questions
hello i have read the sticky on 400ex jetting but i have more mods then what he has is for mostly stock and idk what pm is im new to the site but
i got a 01 400ex with a 440cc big bore kit full big gun exhaust and big gun rev limiter its a stock cam though i think it has stock jetting its running super lean but also doesn’t seem to be getting power in the mid to top end rev of the motor anybody have any suggestion also i am gonna buy a air filter any suggestion on which brand k&n, Uni filter <honda oem and i am gonna get a stage 1 hotcam can i get info on what to run with the filter and hotcam and with out ?? i am just looking for any info or suggestions
2008 400ex jetting
Hi I’m new to the forums. I have a 2008 400ex. I already have a motoworks sr4 slip on pipe, big gun header and an uni air filter. I am 100 ft above sea level. Weather is about 60F. I do not know which jet kit to order and what jets to run. I was looking at a 6sigma jet kit. Are those any good? I was thinking of a 42 pilot and 165 main. I’m not sure what to do about the needle and air fuel mixture screw?
