Hi, new to the forum, bought an older Honda quad last fall, think its a TRX300 and I don’t know the year. Going to be doing some maintenance work shortly and I was able to download a manual here, thanks so much! Have a tick in the top end, hoping a valve adjustment will take care of it. Found some other useful info as well. Thanks again.

Back Again – Lifelong Honda ATV Owner
Hey all,
Since my first ATV at 14, a 1984 ATC 125M, I have always owned Honda ATVs. The last one was a 2004 TRX 450R I purchased new but sold a few years later.
Last Friday I found a cherry 1991 Fourtrax 250X for $800 so I snagged it right away, and since two quads are more fun than one, I also got a 2004 400EX for $1800 on Sunday evening.
Needless to say I’m excited to be back in the sport. Here are my new toys:

1992 trx 300 2wd new owner
Just got a 1992 trx 300 2wd for free, last person that worked on it butchered the wiring harness, don’t even know if it ran before they went crazy with dykes and twisting wires, so with any luck maybe with all this experience here i’ll be able to get her running. got the new wiring harness in and new switch assembly, guess my first question would be, since it has a kickstart does it matter if the run switch is on? any advice on this bad boy feel free to holler at me.

Starts and runs. Idles fine. Bogs down and dies when trying to accelerate. Neither hand brake works, foot brake does. Rear plastics broken. Headlights not working. I’m no mechanic, but I’d love to get this to be a reliable unit for riding the kids around and for hunting and working around the hunting property.
