Trails finally open

Been a long wait for the trails in our area to open up for the season. Since I’m very new to 4 wheeling have really looking forward to getting out and seeing some of the country that is around our area. Purchased our Honda back in late March and after a little work have been anticipating the opening of the trails. We finally had the opportunity to get out and get some dirt, dust, and mud on the tires this last weekend as we were able to get out a couple of times and both trail heads were only about 20 miles from home. After our 2nd outing, have decided that we will probably be looking for another Honda with either totally manual gears or one with the option of auto/manual options. Much safer for navigation while coming down. Any suggestions would be great, but here’s some photos of our outing. Can’t wait to get back home from work and hit the trails again. FF

I’m nearly 70 (still can’t believe it!) but decided to get my first ATV. I’ve been riding motorcycles for about 40 years, but the idea of a 4 wheeler appealed to me. I plan using it for tasks around the house, mainly moving my motorcycle trailer from area to area in the back yard so the grass won’t get too long or die underneath it.

I also want to try to find areas where I can ride…but I am not interested in "mud riding" or in any sort of aggressive riding. I just would like to plug along some scenic areas, preferably in the woods. I don’t hunt at present, but that’s always an option…..I do NOT like squirrels! <g> I’m hoping to get some recommendations from folks on this forum as far as where to go riding. I am retired so I have time on my hands.

Also, since I have only ridden one ATV in my life, and that was around the block a few times, I need to get educated on how to ride this thing. I found an online ATV Safety Institute class that I will start this week before I pick up the Rancher in a few days. Any other suggestions for learning how to ride these beasts?

So I have to admit I know nothing about Atv’s but i’m mediocre with vehicles. Hopefully I learn a few things from you guys and in return be able to help others along that come after me, new to the forums. I recently broke my leg and before I can ride again I’m attempting to fix the leaks near the top end of my 400. Thanks again for any help/info you guys have. I appreciate it 🙂
