My first ATV…

So I guess maybe I’m having a midlife crisis, earlier this year I bought a 2004 Yamaha R1 but that didn’t give me what I wanted so about a month ago I traded it for 2 400ex’s. 2002 (named it red) and 2003 (named it yellow), I’m sure you can figure out where the names came from. I figure this way my wife and I can both go out and play together in the dirt.
Yellow
wiseco 11.1:1 stock bore piston
K&N filter, no box
Renthal handlebars
Niche carrier and bearings

Red
Namura 10.5:1 stock bore piston
K&N filter, open box
white brothers e series muffler
mad hatter graphics kit
nerf bars
not stock rear wheels

So my reason for posting is mostly to tell anyone reading this, Thanks for an awesome forum! I’ve already done a lot of work on both of these and much of it was easy because of what I’ve read on here. On to what I’ve done so far

Yellow – replaced timing chain, replaced rear carrier, rebuilt rear brake caliper, new drive chain and sprockets, lots of little things not worth mentioning, in process of having the plastics wrapped in dark blue

Red – replaced head gasket, replaced my son’s vocabulary with a few 4 letter words, in process of replacing head studs with gt thunder…

And if there’s any advice I can pass on from what I’ve done so far, it’s to make sure your valves are properly adjusted. And there’s my ATV experience in a nutshell.

New guy/ 05 rancher

Hello guys. First post here been lurking around finally decided to join. I’ve got a 05 rancher 350 4×4 that I removed spark arrestor due excess rust, which made the bike a little louder than stock, should I rejet? Also am currently running a k&n but am switching to a uni.

Thanks in advance!

New guy from NC

Hey everyone, just a quick intro. My name is Tim, I’m from Winston-Salem NC. I just bought a 2015 Rancher 4×4 earlier today and it’s being delivered Tuesday and I can’t wait! This is my first ATV I’ve owned and I couldn’t be more excited right now. I’ve been on dirtbikes since I was 5 so this is going to be a bit of a change for me.
I look forward to the fun times and many experiences to come. Hopefully I can meet up with a few locals some time and get out and ride!
