I’ve ridden quad runners/motorbikes very little in my life time due to my former career and now that I’m older the YOLO bug has struck (you only live once)!
So one of the first quads I ever rode was a 1986 Honda Trx200SX, and last week I found one in craigslist (I probably paid too much but it had more plastic then most I’ve seen, a non rusted frame/gas tank and a seat that didn’t need upholstered!).
So it’s runs and drives great other then it dies when it gets warm. I can keep it going by gassing it some. It does not die while riding except at slow turn around/idle speed.
I figure it just needs adjusted as the idle is very low, but I’m working on cleaning out the fuel/air stuff first (my air filter fell apart when I tried to take it out to clean it) and I will have to adjust while it’s cold as it won’t run when warming.
I look forward to reading posts, seeing other builds, and sharing my progress!
Hi
Just thought i would stop by and share my restoration project with anyone who is interested. Any maybe get some tips along the way.
Here’s my 1994 TRX300FW as purchased
It has been on a dairy farm here in NZ and as u can see is the frame is rotted out.
So new frame bought and sand blasted and painted with POR15.
Unfortunately just about everything i touch needs redoing.
So plan now is everything that goes on the shiny recon frame will be sandblasted or wire wheel cleaned, painted, new bearing and seals etc.
Prob going to spend a bit but a cold beer in the shed beats the flat screen 🙂
will update along the way and may need some help !
Hi guys just wanting to know I have built a lot of car motors lawn mowers but this is my first time I’ve ever had to split the case,I have a 2002 rancher Es 4×4 and ordered all the parts oem I’ve had it since new and went to refresh the top end when I found my crank at the little end was sloppy so I guess what I am asking is can I do it on my work bench or take it to the Honda shop
Have always looked trough the forums in the past for information and finally joined. Just bought a 15 rubicon and needed help on my winch and everyone was quick to assist me.
Just wanted to put a big thank you to everyone here!
Hello everyone – im new to the quad world, I just moved to NJ and decided to buy a quad. Never had one but I always wanted. I now have some room to store it so naturally it was time to buy. I purchased a 2015 Honda Rancher 420 – which I outfitted with a winch, and a snow plow for the winter. I am curious to find out more about my machine and what I can do with it, do to it and most importantly where I can take it locally to ride and enjoy. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
