hello everyone
Hello from NB Canada
newbie to this forum. Purchased a 2011 550 Grizz and love it. we have a fantastic trail system here in Southern NB.
Bike is awesome and getting out for a run is great!
Just installed heated grips and thumb and looking for hand guards and extra fuel carrying options.
Went out yesterday and with a recent snowfall the ride was very different from dirt trails. My wife joined me for her first trip and she loved it. May have permission to purchase a second ride!!
any one have thoughts on what would be best? A two up bike or a side by side? (used)

Greetings from the Left Coast
Back to reality. I have fabricated both front and rear bumpers because I didn’t like the toy bumpers that came on the 02s and I just have to improve on things. Added a Wally-Mart box on the rear rack, fabricated passenger foot rests, added a 12" LED light bar to the front bumper and added a 1/4" aluminum skid plate. I have other things in the making and will update as it happens.
So, if you see any posts by me, be kind and help an oldmann out.
Thanks
Hello From (IRWIN) PA
My name’s Greg,
I Recently Bought an 1988 Honda Fourtrax TRX 300FW.
I got it on Craigslist for $1000 And it was in good Running condition but needed lot’s of little Things.
It still needs more attention, but It is rideable and dependable and safe.
The main reason that I bought it was to plow my drive way and road.
I broke 2 Garden tractors in 3 years plowing heavy wet snow, so it was time to upgrade.
I was able to reuse the Plow off my murray tractor by Modifing the plow mount and fabbing up and welding some mounting points that bold to the skit plate attaching points. – no Hacking, cutting or welding the Honda’s frame at at all.
So far I have gone through Brakes, the carb, flushed and filled the front and rear diff’s, oil and filters, and Replaced the Right Side rear axle bearing and all the o rings and seals as needed.
The ATV was mudbogged quite heavily by the previous owner, so there was a lot of slop and Other junk in the cases and brakes.
It has been unusually warm here in PA Mid 50’s in december!!!! WOW!
So I went riding with a buddy today for about 4 hours.
I now have some other stuff to figure out and fix.
This is my first bike / quad – I have a few road going cars and do all of my own work etc. but this Thing is a blast to ride on the trails!
Thanks,
Greg
Hi From Salmon Arm, BC Canada
Am new to this forum stuff. I am in the process of rebuilding a 93 Kodiak from ground up. I picked it up a while ago knowing it had a couple issues. One being that the rear end would raise on take off. Discovered seized brake cylinders mainly on front right causing brakes to prevent front tire from turning easily. Have now acquired 2 parts quads, a complete 95 and a 99 bare frame that had the complete front end attached and boxes of parts. All 4 Cylinders work great and are not seized at all. Very happy about this as each cylinder from the Yamaha dealer here is $170. $106 from Partzilla.com where I did order a few parts from. The other issue with the 93 was a oil leak from the rear of the t-case. This case had been broken and welded but can now replace with the one from the 95. I am cleaning and painting every part in the rebuild. Flat Black and army green with flat grey for skid plates and a few other small parts. I will post pics later.
I do have a question that I have not been able to find an answer to on line, when I install the t-case from the 95, how do I adjust the play ( back-lash) in the gears. I have a bunch of shims to use but need some advise on how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to using this site in reading the threads and seeing pics from others.
Take Care for now, Brian
a return to the ATV world a long post and request for info.
I will be asking some questions about different frames and their interchangeability specifically the rancher I got is a 350 with the following on the front of the frame : trx350fm4 2004 code r232 seems to be a manual shift full time 4wd.
it was used by a beach rescue group on one of the local beaches to put small boats and jet skis into the water so the frame is totally rotted out by salt water corrosion. When I say rotted out, the bottom of the frame separated and now I have a sway backed ATV 🙂
If I was stationed in the states it would not be a big deal, but being stationed overseas with the military it is hard to get any info on this thing.
there are several on ebay but I am not sure if they fit..evidentally there are some differences between the 2wd and 4wd frames though some auctions list them as the same.
can anyone help with info as to if the frames are different or the same? as long as the driveline lines up properly i do not care…I can weld tabs or brackets for the fenders if they line up differently.
cheers

hello from northern virginia
I have a 02 660 which from what i understand has unique wheel spindles/hubs as compared to 03-08. I was reading that you could do a easy 03-08 conversion just by buying 03-08 front spindles/hub and front axles! is it that simple? :gcrules:
Thanks and hello from Fairfax Virginia
