hello all,
I am new to this forum and there is a lot of great info on here, however with that being said I have a 2001 400ex with a blown head gasket. I was wondering if there was anyone in the So MD area that could assist me with replacing it. any help is greatly appreciated.
Have had quads most of my teenage and young adult years, then went a few without one, recently bought a mint trx 125 for my son, hoping to gain some useful info from the forum, thanks in advance!!
Hello friends! I’m thrilled to share I just purchased a brand new Honda. Big day for me and the family. After 30+ years the moment finally arrived. I don’t know how to post pics here but here’s a video walk around of the new quad: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mLybgLKGzuM
I’ll be posting many videos to come as I test it out all over the southwestern USA.
Hi there. I’m Joe and I live in Rapid City, SD. I have ridden atv’s since I worked a ranch back in Montana in about 2002. I rode those everyday, have ridden friend’s quad’s and my dad’s 800. I’ve even owned 2 myself since I moved to Rapid almost 5yrs ago.
But with all of that said I had never ridden any sport quads until I bought one on Sunday. I picked up a nice 2000 400ex with a clear title, 50% tread tires and nice plastics, just starting to fade but no cracks or noticeable scratches. It runs great, looks great and since I know nothing about sport quads i’ll have to rely on you guys but I think I got a smoking good deal at $800 cash. All the ones I see on Craigslist are between $2k – $2.5k. Who knows what they’re actually selling for though…
Anyway, it’s snowing like crazy here right now and I had my company Christmas party the night I brought it back from out of state so i’ve been able to ride it for about 30 minutes so far. Holy cow, these things are a beast compared to any utility quad i’ve ever ridden. Is there a trick to keeping yourself on the seat and not flying off the back of the thing as you accelerate? lol. I’m excited about getting into the sport. Thanks!

I have an 07 Grizzly 700. I recently discovered I need a new regulator and stator. After doing some research, I learned this is a fairly common issue for the 07 – 08 models due to not having an additional oil line added inside the stator cover like they added to the 09 models. Seem this should have been a recall, but the dealer says it isn’t. I’m looking for suggestions on the best stator and regulators to use as replacements. I’ve heard Rick’s are very good. Also, does anyone know what will be required to swap the 07 cover to an 09 cover? I do not want to have to replace the new parts in the near future due to the oil line not being included in the stator cover.
Hi, I’m DawgBone from Covington, La. And I too have an addiction to anything engine powered. My friends and family have reached out repetitively to help me, but their efforts were too little, too late. They say the first step is to admit that you have an addiction, well I have accomplished step 1. It’s step 2-12 that I’m having difficulty with… :icon_ goofy:
I just traded/sold a 09 Yammy Wr250X and 98 Yammy Warrior for this Grizzly. So far, I’m loving the bike. Coming from sport quads(had a 07 Raptor 700r SE before the WRX), I was worried about it not having the power I like, and had a hard time turning away from 1000cc twins… But being the Yamaha fan-boy that I am, and liking the lighter bike, not to mention a family friendly quad, I sure am glad I went this route… And from the short/light 3/4 throttle I’ve given it(still breaking in), I think it’s going to have plenty of power for me.
While I wasn’t expecting the amount of body roll, I am in love with how butter smooth this bike it.
So far I’ve "fixed" the brake lock out for the shifter, and installed a HID setup in the handlebar headlight… I bought a LED bulb, but couldn’t figure a way to make it work/fit. So I butchered up a HID bulb from my old truck….
I have a 2005 Bruin 350 4wd, and when I try to start it , it makes a clicking sound under the seat, left side. Which is where the starter relay and the CDI are located. Could this be from a loose ground or is there a way to test the CDI unit? Any help would be appreciated…..I have a new starter relay that I can install. I just cannot pinpoint the problem.
Alright.. so I bought my 2008 grizzly 660 this summer for $1800 (the price told me it was going to need some work). Mainly bought it to teach myself & to tinker on.
I can’t figure out the problem I’m having right now and it’s pretty aggravating b/c I’ve been tinkering since June and I’m ready to ride. I’ve replaced both front sheaves (the fixed sheave 2 times now), the clutch, the bell housing, mainly everything to do with the belt area I’ve replaced. Still having a slight problem.. When I put it into gear, it jumps and wants to die, but if I give it some gas it’ll go. MY ONE WAY BEARING IS IN THE CORRECT WAY. Once I put it into gear there’s no going back to neutral (unless I cut it back off). If you try, it’ll slam into reverse and cut off. Scared to drive it because I don’t want to mess any of my new parts up.
So I’m absolutely lost.. Idk if the highlifter clutch spring would have anything to do with it. Because once you get it into drive and running for a little while, when you slow down it won’t stop.. it wants to keep pushing the tires.
Any help would be awesome.. because like I said I’m 100% lost on what to do now.
