Looking for info from anyone who has a quiet exhaust on a rancher. Looking for info on fit, brand, and how quiet they are. Would like to see pictures fitted on a newer rancher if anyone has any. All comments welcome, Thank you,

Bought a rancher 350 couple months ago that was sunk. Rebuilt with fresh top end rings, valve seals, gaskets hole ordeal. When i start up bike it still smokes a tad but when you rev it it smokes alot. Im thinking it could be oil in the muffler? If i take the muffler off it doesn’t smoke when idleing or when its reved up. So would it be possible for muffler to have alot of oil in it?
Just discovered that I might need to take my quad into the dealer and have the cases split and transmission rebuilt because its slipping out of 5th gear. After speaking to 3 honda service techs at 3 different honda bike dealers, they all point towards some nipple inside the engine that holds the transmission together. At $115 an hour for labor X 8 hrs approx to teardown and rebuild plus parts thats allot of money.
And am wondering if its a direct swap. Its the exact same "style" that I have now. I dont care if I have to splice some wiring and change a few connectors. I just want to know if it will work? Direct bolt in swap? Thank you.
So after my previous frame off restoration of a 2003 TRX450FE, this "new" bike is a pleasure!
Though not equipped with 4x, I don’t miss it for the riding and work I’m doing at the stables. We’re not mudders and I avoid water like the plague. This 2006 Rancher came running well, but filthy.
So far I’ve:
– thoroughly power cleaned it with body plastics off
– redone most electrical connections with terminal cleaner and dielectric grease
– rebuilt the rear drum brake panel (and new shoes), replaced the foot brake cable (still need to replace the hand cable)
– removed oxidation from body plastics
– inspected and changed all fluids (diff, crankcase)
– cleaned, repaired and painted front carrier and front skid
– added "seat" pad for 2-up riding
– added Norchill soft cooler pack for long days away from substinance
Soon to come:
– replacing 10" rear stock rims (and Bearclaws) with stock 12" rims from another honda
– rebuilding the front brakes
– adding an LED "headlight" that turns with the handlebars w/relay and switch
– adding some LED rear lighting for tasks (w/switch)
– repair (weld) rear carrier and repaint
– add motorcycle horn (w/momentary contact switch)
– replace one damaged tie-rod end
This is such a minor build in comparison to my last! It’s actually easy and fun since I can ride too! We’ll be at horse show this weekend and I’ll post up some pics once we’re back. :icon_wink:
I have an 02 Rancher 350 es 4×4. Having problems shifting AFTER I drive it. Replaced the angle sensor and the shift motor. Tested all the wires and the shifter buttons all work as they should. I put it in gear and get goin a bit and then all of a sudden will not shift. turn off key and turn it back on and shifts perfect til all of a sudden there is nothing. any help?
Hey guys! Season just ended for me here in Canada. I own a 2008 Honda rancher 420 FPM. I recently bought a 2008 Honda rancher FPE that dosnt run. The Rancher FPE is automatic and has a "Combination Meter" or GPS (what ever u want to call it). I was wondering if it’s possible for me to put the combination meter on my Rancher FPM since it doesn’t have one and I would like to have one. I tried looking at the manual and couldn’t figure it out. If anyone knows if I’m able to put it on it would be greatly appreciated!
