My CDI went bad, found the side was blown out. Put new one on, and all the voltages read good. 3 weeks later, it blows again. Found the in line fuse off the positive battery, was melted. Replaced the fuse holder and the fuse blew as soon as I hit the starter. smoke from the area of the CDI, Put a new fuse and tried it, and everything works good, except there is no spark. I am thinking either I have a direct ground on the wiring harness, but more likely a stator that intermittently goes to ground. What is your experience on this issue?
Well, after 6 months of trouble free use post my mini rebuild, my 1990 300FW seems to have developed a gear oil peak from the front differential. It doesn’t appear to be coming directly from the seal but rather it’s coming from where the front drive shaftfrom the transfer case enters the front diff.
Is there a seal inside there that I’m missing somewhere? I will get a picture of it up here too. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch!
Not sure if this is the place to ask this but does anyone know where or have any tan/beige plastics in good condition for a 1999 honda fourtrax I need everything the front rear fenders trunk lid side cover and all
I have a 2015 Foreman 500 TRX500FM2 and the first oil change is due. Called dealer today and they want $170 to change oil & filter, check & adjust valves, clean air filter, check differentials, and pretty much make sure everything is good to go. I’m not hearing anything unusual while motor running but this is my first atv and I’m not too sure if I need all this done at this time. Is this oil change something I could do my self and get valves checked next oil change? Or should I get things checked out now? I will be out of warrenty in April 2016. I don’t ride enough to get 600 miles on it by then for the next due oil change. Sorry for being long, any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks
I was out riding yesterday and my Rubicon had been left out all night on the trailer. When I got to the parking area after a 45 minute drive it was 25 F outside. I went to start my Rubicon and I swear after holding in the start button after about 10 seconds I was about to give up and try again, but it started up. This video shows it starting a little bit easier than the day before, but still took a long time in my opinion. Normal? Is there anything I can do about it? Do Polaris and Can-AM have the same starting characteristics?
209 miles / 47.2 hours on this quad.
I’m really confused because my buddy has a Foreman that is about 15 years old that has a carburetor and his starts right up. Of course he has a choke that he can adjust. Is that an advantage over fuel injection?
I have a 93 honda fourtrax 300 that i think has a bad stator..is there a way to test this? Also i have a couple spares laying around one is off a ’95 and the other is off a ’94 will these stators work on my ’93?
