My clutch plates were seized so I took it apart and freed the discs/plates and everything measured good. Waited a week for the gasket and went to put it back together today. Fired it up and put it in gear, it jumped a bit in the direction I shifted into like everything was good. Gave it throttle and nothing. I must not have aligned something properly putting the case back on or something worse. Any thoughts on what I screwed up? BTW, this is a 1999 300FW
Ok this atv been sitting up for a little while so I rebuilt the carb new gas and filter after I got it running when I shift into gear forward or reverse the motor wants to idle up and I can’t figure out why anyone else had this problem before?
Hey guys, this is my first post on here so I am sorry if I am beating a dead horse. I have a 2000 Honda Recon and it sat for a several months a couple years ago. I cleaned the carb and got it running but it never ran the same. After working a lot on my Jeep I decided to give the old Recon another go. I cleaned the carb TWO more times (so a total of three times) but never rebuilt it with new gaskets, o-rings, or jets. I recently learned that what I did was a big no no!
So I ordered a carb rebuild kit and now I’m left wondering what the hell I’m supposed to do with all of this stuff. The gaskets and jets are nothing but I have no clue how to replace the throttle pin, some springs, and other various parts. Also, I can’t even manage to get my carb completely off my bike.
I am just in need of some general knowledge here! Thanks to all of the vets who I’m sure will set me straight:wink:

Hey guys, just bought an 88 Honda 300 4×4 from the father-in-law, have 2 newb questions.
1) I want to put new tires on it, was leaning towards running a 24×9" front and 25×12.50" rear. It has the factory 11" rims, they will work with a 25×12.50 right? Kenda has a bearclaw that size I was leaning towards.
2) I noticed that most of the 300’s have a black "guard" that covers out past the edge of the fenders another couple of inches. Where would a guy find some of those?

2003 Foretrax 450 ES. Sounds like pull cord recoil unit might be binding and grinding when I press starter button (sound comes from directly under seat by drive shaft). It sometimes stalls or clears and idles. Anyone have any suggestions before I remove pull cord recoil unit to inspect?
