I have a fourtrax 300 4×4 with a bad rear end that the previous owner removed from the swing arm. I was able to buy a cheap 2 wheel drive 300 with a good rear end. Is it easier to remove the swing arm on both machines and then just swap in the good rear end. It would seem like it is only just 2 bolts one on each side of the swing arm.
I live in AZ and to make my 1988 fourtrax street legal. Which is really for being legal on maintained dirt roads I’m not actually riding on paved roads but I’ve been told forest service gives out lots of tickets if not street legal

Replaced my carburetor but the throttle cable tops are different. Got the old one off but still can’t get new one one. Took off a retainer ring still won’t fit. Anyone know how to get the metal piece from the cable to fit the new cap?

I believe this is some type of spacer but I am not sure that this is its only function.
Can someone tell me what exactly this collar does, there is a ring welded in the center and on one side of the ring it is ribbed and on the other side it is smooth.
Where are they available to buy, I tried a few places on line but no one has one for sale.

So I’ve got what I believe to be a Honda 250ex engine in a different body (old 4×4 UTV thing). Long story short, went from running good to dead. Turns over all day long but won’t fire up. Have spark, have fuel. Removed and Cleaned the carb(which I recently rebuilt) and it was ok. Spark is kinda white AND orange so the strength could go either way. Also tried a new plug, nothing. "Appears" to have good compression, pumps tons of air out and will suck my hand apart if I keep if over the carb while cranking.. What’s next? What am I missing here?
Ok so first post. I’m new to atv. I’m a hunter and tired of beating the truck up and saw a guy in the neighborhood seeking his 1988 fourtac 300 4×4. He is the original owner. Good price. Clean rig.
So he said only issue is that sometimes you have to tap on the cdi for it to start. Well that seems true. I tap on it and it fires right runs smooth no sputter or engine issues. Will start over and over until cold then tap tap to fire it up
Went to local hinda shop they said I’m nuts it can’t be cdi and said the u to is to old for the, to even work on.
I read some post that said other we’re having same issue
So. Seems like a no brainier. Should I buy it and see?
If so any manufacturer I should look for or stay away from

so i have been reading on here, i have found a few posts, but nothing to good,
the front right wheel ( sitting on bike) wiggles something fearce so i took it off. and the front disk is wiggling all over the place up down left right. is this the wheel bearing or is it a CV joint? the wheel sits on a big of and angle while its sitting on the the ground.
any help would be awesome and if it is a wheel bearing does anyone have a step by step for this bike with disk brakes iv only found a few videos on youtube for the drum ones. thanks guys
Hi… Iam having the same problem but not different.! 2006 Honda Rubicon TRX500fga. machine stopped showing neutral with shifter. have tried to short neutral switch to see if light appears so I can start machine.. No go..! have been checking with meter and neutral switch and it has no continuity… So shorting or grounding this out does not work… Have error code 1 log and six short..! Have checked even starter area by fuses and to check if there is power when you turn this on and press the starter switch… which it does but has also constant power going P2 starter relay… book stated should not have constant power…!!! tried the red and green wire in harness at this connection and there nothing..? no continuity while shifter in D and squeezing front brake. Nothing… I thought the neutral switch and grounding this out would work.! nothing.??? and grounding this..!! ???? what should I be looking for and should follow…. My initial code was 11 blinks… had to change angle sensor… after doing this code changed to 1 long and six short as I said earlier… I need a better approach to problem and what I should be doing… upon turning on key all lights come on and doing it startup with boot up..! but no neutral or anything to do with shifter and allowing me to start machine…
