My 300 fourtrax ran like a top when I parked it some fiveish years ago. And I’m sure it had some ethanol in it.now I know better.
The bike would run with the choke on it but rough. And the exhaust pipe was cherry red so I figure it was really lean.
I emptied and flushed out the tank and took the carb apart and soaked it in cleaner for about an hour. I cleaned the jets the best I could. They were really gummed up and in bad shape.
When I put it back together it’s running better but it’s still not right. It will run a few seconds without the choke but not long.
Do I need to set the idle speed before I mess with the air mixture? And how Cani do that with it on choke?
Should I take it back apart and try again with a new kit or do y’all think I can adjust it out?

Hey guys it’s been a while since I’ve been here but I have just recently purchased an 09 foreman rubicon 4×4. I was out riding this weekend and and noticed my front wheels aren’t pulling at all. The light on my cluster will glow green but isn’t blinking. Both front wheels will spin with each other if I spin one wheel or another. I noticed that the drive shafts will spin but isn’t really engaging when the switch is turned on. I have done alot of research but I have come up blank. The wiring / sensors are good. Please give me some input.

Can anyone verify that the rear foot brake pedal does or does not have a return spring at the pedal somewhere? My 1990 that I recently picked up does not have one on it and I’m just curious if it’s missing or now. I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on the exploded diagrams.
i have a 86 fourtrax and the left cv joint is popping i wanted to get a rebuild kit and i found a deal on a kit for a 1987 350 i was wandering if these two share the same parts .. i sure hope so the only year specific kit ive found was 50$ more .. thanks in advance

lookin at this one..fela says took carb off for his other machine and this one has a blown head gasket…so what causes that? is it worth the $500 asking? no pics yet….
and the 300 i was looking at got lifted…guy was posed to call in am and sold in the am musta been his 9-10 appt….snooze and lose!!!!
I have a seldom used 2011 Foretrax TRX500FPE with 333 miles and 43.7 hours. I always seem to have trouble getting it started as I have to choke it for 5-10 seconds before it will fire up. Is this normal?
I bought a 98 Honda 300fw 4×4 through an auction to use around the farm. It has a quite a few things that need to be fixed front and rear brakes don’t work, choke lever broke, seat cover, battery cover and kick start cover missing, and when I took rear brakes apart I noticed the brake drum missing and the rear axle bearing is shot. I check air cleaner box, it was clean but the plastic tube underneath had dirt in it. I’m not sure if previous owner had plug recommended for winter in it but I got a different ngk plug that was recommended. I changed the oil using valvoline 10w-40 atv oil, and rebuilt the starter, I could only kick start it when it got it. The day after I changed oil I went to start it again and it smoke pretty bad and smelled bad too. Idk if it’s burning oil or bad gas, I got a carb rebuild kit on the way and figure I should do that before a top end rebuild. however, I’ve been looking at top end rebuild kits and was wondering if the kits made by namura are any good? Or should I go with OEM parts? also any other advice a common probs with 300fws would be great. thank you.
