Tire delima

Hey All

i got my new 2015 Grizz 700 back in January and have gotten to take it out only a few times (due to work and weather getting in my way) the few times ive gone out ive ended up getting stuck in a few spots of puddles/deceptive mud holes, ive got a winch so it was no problem getting my self out but im finally gonna get some new wheels and tires ordered. Ive got my wheels picked out and for tires im looking at either the ITP mega mayhem 27×12 or mayhem 26×12, im more leaning towards the mega mayhem but im not sure if that will call for any clutch work which im not looking to get into for a while. for my riding i do wooded/technical as well as light to moderate mud.

im lookin to get some incite on the 2 different tire models as well as any preventative or necessary maintenance with either model, again not looking to do any/much clutch work or upgrade the axles and such, just want something a little bigger and better then the stock tires.

thanks in advance

Kenda Bear Claw HTR way out of balance

I just got a new set of 26x9x12 in the front and 26x11x12 in the rear. I actually have a new King Quad 750, but this forum is pretty active and I end up reading quite a bit from here when I google search.

I just got these on and they shimmy pretty horribly on the road above 25ish. They also seem to make the steering really twitchy. Anyway I took them to a tire shop and they reluctantly put them on a tire balancer. He was going on about how he never heard of balancing atv tires, and was making all kinds of comments and being a general a-hole. He put one tire on the balancer and said it was so off he would never get it to balance and wasn’t going to waste his time trying.

Has anybody ever used the balance beads Apparently there are some that can be put in through the valve stem.

Over-sized tires on Grizzly 550

Hey guys. Brand new to GC and also a brand new 550 owner.

I live in a remote location and the the dealer threw on 26" Mudlite XL tires on my Grizzly. I didn’t think it would be a big deal until it arrived at the airport and I saw how big these tires are.

Are these tires hard on the 550? Seems like the deep tread must be hard on the differential, I’m just not sure. Should I switch these out for a stock sized tire? I’m a hunter in the arctic and we encounter a bit of mud, some river crossings, but mostly rocking rough terrain. I just want this thing to last a long time. Any advice from the experts is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Real talk on 27×14’s on a Grizzly 700

What is the real deal on running 27×14’s on the 700? Are modifications (clutch, springs, etc) necessary or can you run them without ragging out the rig or it being a dog? Ive read conflicting things and the local dealer swears you can run them just fine with no issue.

Looking to upgrade off of these garbage stock Maxxis tires that my 2014 came with.
