I’m going to wire my 2 up seat into the factory tail light wiring.
I’ve been told that T-tap connectors work fine. But I’m not sure what gauge to use. What gauge is the tail light wiring?
I will be wiring a 4 pin trailer connector.
Just curious if anyone knows which wires are which? i’ve read enough to know that I could just buy a tester and probably figure it out, but I don’t have a tester and have never used one so i thought I’d just throw the question out there.
Is it true that one wire is tail light, one is brake light and one is ground? Making the 4th wire on the 4 pin unnecessary.
Hi, I went to load the bike in the truck today, I normally use the winch to secure it to my headache rack, I flicked it on free spool, pulled the cable out and when I flicked it back to tighten it up there was nothing. I had the bike in the truck sunday and used the winch and it worked great. Wondering if anyone has any ideas what this may be. Thanks in advance.
All, could use some help trouble shooting. I have a 350 Big Bear and I won’t start, meaning, when I push the start button it acts as if it is a dead battery. I have replaced the battery with the same result. I am confused as the headlights work, but I have lost all of the lights on the dash (reverse and neutral lights). Before this happened I thought the solenoid was going bad because it chattered some. Should I start with the solenoid, then starter, then maybe the neutral safety switch at the shifter?
Ok sometimes the 4×4 will turn on and off when it wants to. I was riding yesterday and it wouldn’t go into diff lock also. Is this just the handle bar switch? I am going to take it apart and clean it and see what happens. I have cleaned the plug end but not the switch itself yet. Might just save time and but new switch if it’s the culprit.
Last weekend I had issues getting my 2011 450 eps started. I would turn the key on hit the starter button and hear a click and the engine did not turn over. I did some research on this forum and other sites and started the trouble shooting process.
I was hoping it was not my starter because I was not looking forward to getting it out.
Here’s what I did (I’m not sure if this will be helpful for those of us who are not super mechanics).
1) charged my battery overnight (this battery is pretty new). Result: I got the same clicking sound and engine did not turn over.
2) Verified that I didn’t pop any fuses with a volt meter. Result: no burnt fuses
3) Bypassed the Starter solenoid to verify the starter would turn. I took a line from the + side of the battery terminal directly to the starter line (the line right next to were the + battery terminates on the starter relay). I disconnected the + line going to the starter relay before this. Result: The stater ran and the engine turned over and I ordered a new starter solenoid last night.
This morning I connected all the wires again and hit the start button and got the clicking and the engine didn’t turn over. Then jumped across the terminal on the solenoid and started the engine. I shut down the engine and hit the start button one more time. The darn thing started like it never had a problem.
So here’s my question. Does anyone have any thoughts about what happened? If i was guessing I’m thinking my solenoid was stuck open and I knocked loose by working around it. Do they act flaky like this before they completely fail? I plan on replacing it when my new one comes in but would like to hear some thoughts from some of you who know more then me.
I knew right away the handle bar light wasn’t staying stock as soon as I purchased the grizzly. I just don’t understand why they would offer LED lighting but not go all the way. I found many LED bulb replacements but they were only rated at a few hundred lumens, so it was all for show. I think I read the factory bulb was about 800-900 lumens.
I stumbled upon the Baja Designs S2 Pro LED Light.
It is completely sealed against the elements so it can be mounted anywhere. I figured I would take it a step up and retrofit it inside the OEM halogen light. Without taking the light apart, it appeared to be possible given the measurements. Figured some small modifications needed. The unit only measures 2"x3" and offers 2150 lumens with many available options for the spread and color of the light. I went with the Driving/Combo version.
I got the LED light in yesterday. To my surprise the unit fit right inside the halogen housing. I wanted the black to match so I stripped the chrome off the original finish and appeared a beautiful glossy black finish. The LED light blended right in!
I got it fitted up on the Grizzly and overall very happy with the results.

Top is new LED pd vs bottom stock halogen
Oven cleaner eats right through the chrome so we can wash it off
Back end sealed up nicely with heat shrink and special rubber grommet
I have a 2001 grizzly 600 that keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse. I read where I need to trace the lines to see if there is a wire messed up. I was wondering what would be the best way to go about that? Like take off the body or what would be a good start?
Also the fuse did not blow until I changed my front and rear tires. I got it home and it wouldn’t start then I found the blown fuse.
Hi, i have a grizzly 700 2008, one day i got stranded when the engine died on me. . . .
error 33 which is ignition coil failure, replaced coil, tried to start and it burnt a hole in the side of the coil. ….
still says ignition coil error 33 on dash, i dont want to take it to a shop because i can tell it will cost a fortune just figuring out the problem…….
so after asking a friend who works with quads he says it sounds like the cdi, so ive just replaced the cdi today and hurray no error code bike started first time, then i got 2 mile down the road and im back to square 1, bike died error 33 aahhhhhh help please dont know what to try next
Hello. First post here. My 2005 Kodiak 450 lost spark. I drove it into my garage one morning, and was using the winch to tip it on the back rack so I could mount some skid plates. When cranking up the winch was slow so I started the engine to use the alternator to give some more voltage.
About 1/2 was up the engine died. I didn’t think anything of it because I wanted it off as the ATV was just about on the back rack. I put the skid plates on and lowered it back down with the winch. When I went to start it, I had no spark. I still have no spark and cannot figure out what might have happened.
I have since pulled the battery, charged it, cleaned up the terminals. Pulled the fuses and made sure all were intact. ANd pulled the spark plug, put it on my tiller to make sure it sparks and it does.
I pulled a bunch of plastic off the front because I thought I might be able to "see" some lightning in there but I don’t see anything out of the ordinary.
I have done a bunch of searching and most people were talking about changing coils and CDI boxes and I am wondering if there are easy things that should be checked first?
