Grizzly shocking me periodically during a ride
I have a 2007 Grizzly 700 with about 3500 miles on it.
Fairly recently, it has begun shocking me during rides. The timing is seemingly random. I cannot reproduce it in the garage, but it will happen at least a dozen times in a 50-mile ride.
Basically, sometimes when I reach for the brake lever or happen to touch the master cylinder reservoir with a knuckle, I will get an electrical shock right through my gloves.
No fuses have blown.
I am not having any battery charging or draining issues.
I am not having any problems with lights or instrument cluster flickering.
I did starting having starting issues a few months ago, but the battery was 8 years old (stock battery), and when I replaced it, that problem instantly went away. It does not seem to have affected the shock issues either way.
Any ideas where I should start? Has anyone heard of this before?
I am dreading stripping it down and inspecting every single wire, but I recognize that I might have to do just that.
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this.

My Green LED Halos Coming Through the Moose Bumper
Simple wiring of 1 LED light bar
I’ve read a lot of these posts today about how to wire up extra lights but I still have some questions.
I was thinking of wiring from the power wire of the winch or the acc. plug because it would only be powered when the key is on. I would connect from there and place an inline fuse and then connect to the switch. The switch is a 30amp lighted switch. From there I would run to my LED light. I would run a ground wire from the light to the switch and to the negative side of the battery. Does this sound correct? I don’t think there is a need to use a relay for one LED light with a 30amp switch. I do not want to connect this light through my high/ low beam switch. Any advice or step by step instructions would be great. I’d hate to burn up my brand new Grizzly!!
Service manual download?
Heres my issue….. Picked this thing up used, has flaws that I have been correcting. First thing was the key switch so I got a cheapy off ebay for the time being. JUNK. the nut that holds it to the front fender is already stripped so Im gonna have to luge the threads up with some silicone sealer or something to keep it tight. But it was working……
Some idiot put the wrong battery in there and it was dead and thats why my issues has started. The battery was bone dry but would still illuminate the neutral light. I THOUGHT I might be able to get some life out of it if I put some distilled water in it. Its an everstart battery from wal-mart if that makes any difference at all. Now, I have no power and when I hook up a jumper box I get nothing. Neutral light will night light up. Everything is dead. Im stuck here with no manual. I checked the inline fuse and some *** hole wrapped tin foil around it because it was burned out and they were too lazy to get a new one. Im hoping I didnt put a power surge through it and fry out the rectifier or CDI……
any help much appreciated.
660 White Relay
Bought about a year or so ago. Not long after had to replace the white relay under the seat. Everything worked fine for a while. Bike sat for several months and then wouldn’t start or turn over. Gave a good charge on the battery so know that’s good. Same prob. Suspected it was the starter relay (or solenoid). Had a brand new spare, so put that on, but problem persisted. Suspect it’s gonna be that white relay again.
Anyone know what the relay does? Trying to search for it but it’s generically listed on parts stores as relay or relay assbly and I can’t find out much about it.
What causes it to go out? Wouldn’t think I should be eating through two in less than a year.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
