A friend gave me a few of these awhile ago, thought I’d try them out. They are 9w, and dont let the size fool you they are bright! They can be had on ebay for around $6.00/pair ordering from US.
I chose the mounting position because they point slightly out, slightly down. There are other places on the same plastic piece that would create a different effect.
Wired underneath plastic panel:
Had to cut some of the fender out behind the panel where I mounted them (right next to the taillight, each side). You can also see where the wire comes through, ran the wires right along the taillight wires.
It’s been a while since I have posted or made a comment on here but now I need help. Any time I go riding and have a mud hole to cross or splash through my bike stalls and almost cuts off. I know the 660s are bad for sucking steam in the intake but it seems to be electrical in nature. After it happened the last time I immediately pulled the plug wire and it did have moisture on it that almost immediately evaporated. I covered the plug boot inside and out with dielectric grease and it still happens. Any tips? Thanks
Hers a little background, bought a 05 660 and it has run fine since I’ve had it, it always hard to start as I thought the starter was going out, u would push the start button and it would hesitate then start turning over and always started right up but always ran. The only things I’ve done to it was remove lift kit, replace axles and replaced belt and replaced water pump seal. I finally got everything done and went to start it today, it started fine and was running, when I put in gear and went to take off it died. I then tried to start it again and it cranks fine but wouldn’t start so I thought maybe it was low on gas, filled up but still would not start, if I choked it it would crank for a second but wouldn’t stay running. Then my son said he saw smoke by battery. I immediately quite cranking it and turned it off. I then touched the positive terminal to see if it was hot, it wasn’t. Then touched the ground and it made a zap sound and burnt the crap out of my fingers, which I wasn’t expecting on ground. I immediately unplugged the battery and now I’m here. I’ve been reading up on this but I can’t figure out what caused this. I almost thought maybe I put the stator upside down or something when replacing the water pump seal but I’m not sure it’s possible plus I marked everything with marker before dissembling. Just weird that it has been starting and running and that it died while running then went downhill from there. Any ideas?

I’m trying to remove the housing for my light bulb, but i can’t find a way to reach thr inside screw on the housing. From what i can tell I’d have to pull the front plastics just to pull the WHOLE assembly out. Any tips?
There’s alot of play in my brake handle. So I’ve been wrapping the inner part with Teflon tape to firm it up a bit. Works great. The last time I did I noticed a switch popped out so I put it back in. Now my quad will not start now unless in neutral or park. Which the neutral light only comes on when it’s cold. Park I have to shake and shimmy to get the light on and it’s even harder if I’ve got it loaded on my truck. Guess because it’s not firm on the ground. Anyways if I pop the switch back out it starts in every gear with rear brake pressure. What is up with the switch? What’s it used for other than maybe a safety thing
So just bought a 04 grizzly 660. i knew from the get go that the bike would need a new wiring harness as the owners befor me didnt know what they were doing. I was told they were trying to wire up some lights and they got it to work for a while then one day they got on and it didnt fire. long story short i had to get a new harness and i put it on today. when i turn the key on nothing happens. then i turn the kill switch on and it is shorting in the cdi box i think it smokes and dont sound good. it also turns the stater but it donst sound like the starter engages. it does all this without me even pressing the start button. i test the starter (aka by passed the solenoid) and it dosnt sound the starter is engaging? it is spinning but not engaging? where am i going wrong guys! what is screwed up?:cussing:
oh by the way the harness is for a 03 does that make a difference?
