Added something new to the UTV

I decided to try the Razorback infrared belt temp gauge. First the company was fantastic to work with. The product came fast and easy to install. I love how easy it is to see the numbers. I mounted the gauge on the steering column with the pod that I ordered with the gauge.

This first picture is of the gauge after running up and back in front of my house. The gauge is actually reading 104 but the picture happen when the gauge was going from 103 to 104. I was to lazy to get another picture

Helping an Ultra4 Champion

It’s been a pleasure to be a part of John Duckworth’s #1920 winning season in the Ultra4 series. Not only did John win the West Ultra4 championship but won the Ultra4 National title in Reno, Nevada.

Working with John since late 2014 pre-running and setting up his car for what would be the most brutal test of man and machine (Ultra4 series), we offered to sponsor John with our products and help in the pits. It was a great series and we proved that the little RZR is here to stay in Ultra4.

We were of course apprehensive but excited for John to run our Desertcraft line of products on his RZR. Being that Ultra4 is so demanding of all of the components on the car it would be a true test of durability and we felt that our products would be up to the task. They came through for John with flying colors and we are proud of the accomplishment.

Here are the Desertcraft products John used on his car and gave him an advantage over the competition.

Shocks…. The Bilstein 8125 series John ran work flawlessly. We knew that the Bilsteins would allow John to take on anything he could throw at them. They work excellent across a broad range of terrain and were easily set up for desert, track and rocks. Once we set the valving there was no need for any other adjustments except for ride height depending on the type of race he was going to run. These are not special sauce shocks, these are the same shock we offer our customers.

"Full Four" Intake kit….. Keeping his engine build mild for dependability we knew he would benefit from our intake kit. It is a full replacement for the stock system and utilizes a massive R2C filter. The results are crisper throttle response, out of the hole acceleration and mid range punch. Added a nice power gain all the way through the usable power band.

Pre-Filter Kit….. Because of the dusty conditions found in off road racing Having pre-filtrating for the main intake to the engine as well as the CVT drive was a must. Our kit kept the fine dust in check keeping both systems much cleaner.

Fender Skirts….. Keeping all of the debris that flies off the front wheels in the desert and muddy tracks at speed takes a toll on all of the rear components. Trailing arms, Axles, Radius rods all take a beating and we kept it in check with our Fender Skirts.

This is after the first round qualifier at the Ultra4 National

Axle Wrap….. This is a new twist on an old racers trick. Gone are the days of carpet foam and electrical tape. Our wrap is easy to install and can be easily removed for inspecting the axles. When your done just wrap them back up and away you go.

"Quick Draw" (Race) kit……. After a lot of testing we proved that there was an incredible amount of air turbulence in the CVT cover and it struggled to exit the cover. With the addition of our "Quick Draw" we reduced cover temperatures significantly and much more than any other inline system. We offer this kit in two styles the "Race" kit is for all out racing at high RPM. Our "Full Force" kit incorporated a high CFM fan unit for those who work their belts on those hot slow trails and rock crawls when the stock system does not maintain a constant high RPM but your working your belt really hard.

"Full Force Kit"

Shock Candy……… Due to the geometry of the suspension on the XP 1000 certain track set ups and tire size would allow the chassis to contact the ground prior to using up all of the travel. This made for a very hard and harsh hit and directed a ton of energy through the car and driver. To reduce those effects our "Shock Candy" added an extra bump stop to the rear travel of the car for reducing travel slightly and makes for a smoother transition during bottom out.

Winch Stop…… Not sure this was a game changer, but it’s one tough piece that won’t split like many unsupported stops. The dual pour stop incorporates two different materials, a softer material to cinch tight against the fairlead and harder layer so it doesn’t split. The shape works well when wrapping the hook around the roll bar and won’t mar the finish.

Our products took on one of the toughest off road series and proved their worth in John achieving his ultimate goal of winning the Ultra4 National championship title.

Congratulations John, can’t wait to see what 2016 brings!!!

Polaris OEM Paint in Quarts

Does anyone know what kind of paint comes in the quarts from Polaris? My dealer says he can order the paint but no one can give any info on what type of paint it is. Also they aren’t saying anything about reducers or hardeners so I have no idea what else I will need to make it work. And before anyone says it, I have already gone to the local PPG dealer and they have tried and tried to match it but cant get it right.
Thanks
