12V heater for the Razor ???

Has anyone tried a 12V heater for your razor to help keep you warmer in the cab in the colder months? Temperatures here are dropping like crazy after this weekend so I need to get started on making the colder months’ rides more enjoyable.

I have a full glass windshield and am going to look at two different rear windows this morning. That will give me a good start and then I’ll figure something out for the sides that I can make or afford.

So if you have tried a 12V heater (like maybe a camper heater) in your razor, please let me know … good or bad results. I have friends that use an electric blanket that plugs into the dash with mixed opinions on their effectiveness. I also am aware of the $400+ heaters made for razors but I’m not spending that kind of money right now.

Would something like this be effective on days say 20* to 45*?

Please help map sensor

Just installed my turbo big block. MCX turbo 12 pound kit. Upon initial start up runs poor and check engine light.
SPN #102 Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor. (T-MAP) ??
FMI # 4 Voltage to low

Same kit on my stock motor, ran good no check engine light. Motor dropped a valve. New motor check engine light.

I have to take it to Trey at MCX to have a new fuel map installed but wanted to bleed cooling system, check oil ect.

WHERE IS THE MAP SENSOR?

Thanks,
Rick

How Can We Improve Safety Driving Mentality?

I don’t want to take away the gravity of the deaths at Glamis the last couple of days with a post on that thread. Heart felt emotions go out to the family and friends of all who suffered and are lost. So how do we learn from this and get something positive? I don’t know what happened however we have a problem that I suspect is related to injuries and deaths in general. I’ve experienced a lot a close calls but been lucky. My last close call was last Sunday near Crown King. A couple of RZRs were running way too fast around blind corners and we almost hit head on. The first guy was sliding sideways hit the brakes when he saw me (you can’t steer if your wheels aren’t turning) and I instinctively turned into the inside of the corner and he and his buddy following went into the ditch on my side. Why does the RZR make people drive beyond their capabilities? I think it is hopeless to expect these knuckleheads to use common sense. I hope it doesn’t come to regulation or detuning of our machines in the future. Maybe we should just stop and kick the shit out of those people (not realistic either). Just reading on this forum there is a lot of macho (best drivers) out there. Go to a closed race track if you think your shit is that good. Anyone have any constructive ideas on how we can correct ourselves before we lose our sport? (done venting!)

Timing Chain tensioner bleeding off

Polaris needs to correct this problem. I have submitted a letter to corprate Polaris. Here is the letter.

Polaris Utility Vehicles
2100 Highway 55
Nevina, Minnesota, 55340

900/1000 engine complaint

To whom it concerns,
I have a 2015 Polaris RZR S 900 EPS and after about 400 miles it has developed a major engine rattle on start up after setting for a few days. I talked to the local dealer mechanic and was told the cam chain tensioner bleeds off leaving chain loose until it gets oil pressure to tighten after start up. He said all 900/1000 have to same problem and all do it. I returned again yesterday to see if they had any ideas how to correct the problem and was told to use the Polaris extreme oil 5 50 weight and it will help some but won’t correct the problem. I asked about an oil filter with an anti drain flap and was told using any filter but a Polaris would void the warranty. I told him the Polaris warranty is a joke anyway being past my 6 months and would try the extreme oil and a filter with anti drain flap. He asked me to report back if it works.

I then told him I did an internet search of the problem and everyone is having the same problem with the 900 and 1000 engines. Some have even jumped timing and blown up the engine upon start up. He said yes that is true he had 1 jump timing and ruin the engine on start up. After market companies have come up with a tensioner that has a manual adjustment that fixes the problem, but I don’t think I should have to pay to repair a defective engine part that Polaris knows about and will do nothing.

My question, will there be a recall on the bad chain tensioner or will Polaris stand behind any machine that has a failure due to the problem? Please advise.

Sincerely’
Vern Scott Phillips

Some vendors are WORSE than others

Before you part with your hard earned money, do yourself a huge favor and check for the product reliability, company attitude and customer service of the company you will be dealing with.

Recently we have seen several very interesting post on here from folks that were being screwed royally by vendors who advertised their products on this forum. 98% of the vendors are very up front and will bend over backwards to have a satisfied customer, but there is always that 2% and they have been front and center lately.

A simple search of the company and or the product will bring the problems to the top.
