I was lucky enough to get chosen to drive some Prototype SXSs this week. I can’t disclose the manufacturers, vehicles and to be safe even the research company. That’s not important. It was my third drive over a course led by a research driver. I was near the back of the group and was told we could hold back and drive at our own pace as long as we kept up with group. So I was stopping and letting the group go ahead and then hammering it to get a feel for acceleration and handling in high speed curves and then catching up. Part of the course went through a sand wash with some pretty big woops. Been there twice and no big deal. I hammered it and next thing I was airborne and lawn darted it and did an endo and landed wheels up. So here is the experience. I shut off the engine and tried to get out. I was hanging by the 3 point seat belt upside down and couldn’t unlatch it. Had it caught on fire I would have been barbequed. I did a hand stand and someone reached in and undid the belt latch. My XP has a 5 point harness and one rip on the latch and I would have been out. Well I tore up their test vehicle pretty good but glad it wasn’t mine! Moral of my lesson is I wouldn’t even think of driving aggressive without a 4 or 5 point harness that you can get out of in a hurry. And yea the helmet probably saved my bacon too!

Just finished installing a winch on my XP. Does anyone use a mark on the cable to prevent running the cable too far out? If so what do you use? Since the cable isn’t a cushioned cable do you lube it? What lube would you use?

I have a 2015 RZR570 and it has about a 2in give in the gas pedal before actually going. Is this normal? This is my first RZR. Can it tightened or replaced so there is no give and it accelerates immediately?

I will be in Moab on the 4th of July and was wondering if it would be worth it to do Moab Rim to watch the fireworks. Has anyone done this? Can you see them from Moab Rim?

Ok let me first by saying I have everything I own insured through state farm. I previously had a Turbo Hayabusa fully covered with $0 ded and it was covered up to 50K in aftermarket and I paid like $550 a year.

I just purchased a 2015 XP41K and I’ve read where others are getting full coverage for around 150-250 a year. I called and was quoted 190 for 0 ded and 150/300 coverage a year then didn’t see it on my bill so the wife called back and she said they forgot to add it cause they did not have the VIN#. So she gave it to them and they called back and quoted 750 a year full coverage and stated the previous quote was not full coverage just liability. I call BS on this.

I got my paperwork in the mail and they have it under full coverage for a dune buggy. Not a UTV. What are they doing wrong and what do I need to call back and ask or change? No way with a perfect driving record, multiple vehicle discounts, over 25, and married I can see this changing from 190 to 700 especially what others have quoted through State Farm
