It’s deer season

Yup, that time of the year where my local trails (National Forest)are full of deer hunters. I have no problems with hunting or hunters for the most part and they are mostly nice people, but it does get a little more crowded and some of them seem to think they own the place. God forbid a motorcycle or RZR that normally banzai the trails, scare the deer away. I’m always super cautious this time of the year and give way to the 4x4s that don’t normally frequent these trails but are abundant during the season, but I still get the dirty looks like I don’t belong here?
And of course they leave trash in the campsites ( even though a roll off dumpster is provided at the staging area) that the OHV crowd cleans up on their "Adopt a Trail" program.

And to make matters worse, helmets are required for ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles, but do the hunters wear them tooling around in their Rhinos or Rangers?? Hell no!

And always after deer season you see lots more new trails blazed by the hunters who ignore the "stay on existing trails" signs and create their own. So who gets blamed? The OHV crowd. And lastly these folks don’t understand it’s the CA state green sticker money that pays for trail maintenance, not the federal government.

Ok rant over ……………for now!:rollfinger:

Western/Southwest Colorado trip

I’m finally getting around to posting some pictures of my wife’s and I trip to Colorado. We are both from the area so it was great to go home and take the RZR there for the first time. We were there July 17- Aug 1, kind of hot for some of the desert riding we did in Grand Junction but in the mountains around Ouray weather was perfect! Here are some highlights.

Out of Grand Junction we did some riding up 27 1/4 RD, endless possibilities there. The highlight of Junction was the Tabeguache Trail. We unloaded at the Bangs Canyon lot and did a shirt evening ride. Followed a Jeep in that showed us the "Playground" area. This is like a mini Moab! Lots of slick rock, red dirt and awesome terrain! Also checkout Billings Canyon.

Another great ride was out of Marble to Crystal City. A few years ago we did the trail in my old 4Runner but it was much more fun in the RZR. My wife is from Paonia so this was a very familiar area to us. Highly recommend Slow Groovin BBQ!

Our favorite area has always been Ouray, and again it was awesome to get the RZR there. Yankee Boy Basin was a must but to avoid the crowds we spent most of our time on top of Red Mtn Pass on County RD 31, awesome area! A lot of old mines, ghost town, and views that are second to none. Venture slightly into Black Bear pass and over to Porphyry Gultch. Now we just need to go back in fall.

2016 900s vs. 2016 1000s

I have been researching the 2016 900S and the 2016 1000S. The only difference i can find between the two is you get 25hp more with the 1000S and of course the the price is higher. I have seen were people are saying the 2015 900s has plenty of power for the trails and riding in the woods. So what Im wondering is that the 1000S is worth the more money just for power that I probably wont need?
