how important is 50 inches

Hello to everyone , as you can see here I am totally new . The same can be said about getting a Rzr also . We were at our local dealership looking and we test drove an ace 570 . It was fun , but as the wife was making a turn ( it did not look to sharp or fast ) in the parking lot to take another lap on the test track she rolled it . I think it put some fear into her . So I have started looking at the wider tracking side by sides. Some say I should make sure and stick with a 50 inch model so I can ride restricted trails. Is that something that is really important ? Not ever having been out riding in a side by side I don’t even know if what I am asking is a dumb question or not . It would make sense to me that a 50 inch wheelbase anything is not going to be as stable as a 60 inch model . Can you who are in the know enlighten me? Thanks for any info or opinions.

Who makes Polaris LED Taillights?

So here is the story. I picked up the Polaris Utility Taillight kit last week and as I was pulling the old taillights out I saw that the pins on both the new and old taillights were marked on the connector. You can see that they are clearly marked "TURN, GND, STOP, TAIL":

I figured that Polaris must of ordered these in advance knowing that they were going to come out with a Polaris brand turn signal kit. Now I have been looking for a turn signal kit for a little while now because some of the trails up where I live go through towns that allow road riding and I would like to be a bit safer on the roads. I don’t trust RVs and Trucks up here.

So I call up my dealer. They were very nice but didn’t have an answer for me. But dealers have something called "Ask Polaris" where they can email Polaris usual questions like the one I had. So the next day the dealer calls me back saying that not only does Polaris not offer any kind of turn signal kit but that they have no intention of offering one. So bummer. But why would the taillights be marked then?

Onto my question: Who manufactures these LED Taillights? Im hoping that perhaps the actual manufacture will offer a turn signal kit. I’m aware of other universal turn signal kits, but if I can get something that’s plug and play without drilling into my plastic then I’m all for it. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks all!

Contract Awarded for Ground Guidance Route Planning Software

This is not RZR related, but Polaris related:

MINNEAPOLIS (August 13, 2015) — A contract for Ground Guidance® software expands the patented route planning and terrain analysis software for the U.S. Army by integrating it into the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) platform. The software suite from Primordial, which is owned by Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII), provides on-and off-road routing for mounted and dismounted soldiers, accounting for terrain, weather, enemy activity and equipment load. The contract also includes a computer-based training (CBT) package.

Military small unit leaders face complex tradeoffs when selecting equipment and routes. Ground Guidance, when integrated into platforms like ATAK, plans efficient and safe routes to and from mission objectives and allows soldiers to account for other variables that impact speed and time.

“We continue to expand the integration of Ground Guidance onto our mission planning platforms because it accelerates mission planning, enables dynamic and rapid re-planning, facilitates thorough course of action (COA) analysis, and is critical for remote mission planning,” said LTC Robert Klarenbach, U.S. Army. “Bottom line, it increases the combat effectiveness of our soldiers.”

Also, with each platform and integration comes user evaluation and testing to improve the software and verify the accuracy of route metrics such as distance, duration, energy expenditure, calories burned and “Ground Guidance dramatically accelerates mission planning, facilitates on-the-fly re-planning, and improves route quality by automatically generating fast and concealed routes through on- and off-road terrain,” said Randy Milbert, Director of Software, Polaris. “As a result, small combat teams are more autonomous, nimble and adaptable in quickly changing battlefield conditions.”

Ground Guidance has been integrated into FalconView, TerraExplorer, Nett Warrior, X-Plan, Ringtail, Tactical Ground Reporting (TIGR) and Google Earth. Primordial has also secured Ground Guidance contracts with major defense contractors including General Dynamics, Rockwell Collins, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon.

Polaris ship date accuracy

For those of you that have ordered a new machine not on the lot, how accurate have the estimated ship dates been? I was told 9/11 for my new 1000s. Pretty disappointed, I’m hoping it’s a worst case scenario and it truly will ship earlier.

Any dealers with experience know?
