900XP4 vs 1000 XP4

I am selling my 2012 Crew Ranger and looking to get a RZR, but here is my issue. I thought I wanted a 900 so I called the dealer where I got the ranger at they shot me a price of $16900 for a 2016 900 XP4 but I found a 2015 demo 1000xp4 for $17400 but doesn’t have a warranty!
We mostly ride it around town and on the back roads but like to take it out trail riding!

Check engine light?

Just put the motor back in and it runs perfect, idles beautiful except the check engine light is on and it’s a code 51. Near as I can tell that is an injector code. I unplugged the injectors and cleaned the plugs and the rest of the electrical plugs on the TB’s. Anyone know what could be wrong. Or could I have it fixed but the CE light doesn’t go out for a while? Can we clear the codes?
Kinda lost here as it’s runs perfect and it actually went out for a bit then came back on………..

Kanati Mongrel 32 x 10 x 15

So i pulled the trigger and bought these new 32" Mongrels. They look very nice, they are big and only weigh about 45lbs with rim.

Took them for a ride on the street and they start to make your steering wheel rock back and forth and had a bounce real bad. they are good up to about 25 – 30 mph. These are DOT approved tires but I will tell you they do not work for the street legal RZR.

I tried swapping wheels front to back, side to side and no change. even checked wheel bearings, tie rods and everything was solid. Bought them from Rock Mountain ATV and took them back the next day. The warranty guy was VERY nice and understanding. he tore them down and swapped them to different rims and spun them and he could even see that the tires were far from being round.

He spoke with KANATI and they kept telling him they claim these tires to be an "Off Road Tire" and not for street use. He was in agreement with me that they are a DOT tire rated to like 75 mph. He was sending the tires back to them to have them look at them. He said he had another set of these that had the same issue the day before.

I am sure they would be fine for just off road but still shouldn’t make your RZR shake and wobble like they did.

I have 32" truck tires on 17" wheels and they don’t shake or wobble at all. Even the factory tires and wheels i put back on them and zero shake or wobble.

This is just my experience with the tires, I was looking all over to get a review on them but couldn’t find one. So thought I would post this with some pictures.

Rocky Mountain ATV is awesome and will continue to do my business with them.

Shopping

Hi all! I’m new to SxS’s and am really wanting to get one. I’ve had quads, dirt and street bikes since I was a little kid. Currently, I have a 2000 Honda 400EX that I bought new. My wife isn’t interested in riding quads (and herefore I don’t get to ride much) but I was watching Destination Polaris and she said she thinks she would like riding along with me in a RZR. So… here we are. I had a few questions…

For new, what are folks generally paying relative to MSRP? Do dealers discount them? Or are they getting full price due to demand? Specifically, I’m looking at a 50" RZR 900 with EPS.

I’m in southwest PA, and have done most of my riding up in Allegheny National Forest near Marienville. I know the wider machines fit up there. But if this works out, id like to venture out to other riding areas. Are most trail systems in the eastern US open to the larger 60"-64" machines? I’d hate to go somewhere only to find out I couldn’t ride many of the trails. I’ve read a few threads on this topic and it seem opinions are mixed depending on where and what type of riding.

Given the prices and the fact that we aren’t totally sure my wife will like it enough that we use it alot, I’m most likely going with used for my first unit. I’m fairly mechanical and can and will fix most things myself. However, I’m worried about buying someone else’s problems. I bought a couple older mini quads and have been beating my head against a wall trying to keep them running. Anyways, what are the weak points on these units? What should I look out for on, say, a 4-5 year old 800? And, if I bought an 800, would I regret not getting a 900 that I really want?

Thanks and I look forward to jumping into this new hobby.

Polaris Performance Seats

Anyone have them? How do you like them? I can’t seem to find any reviews on them. They look like the one below…..

edit: I did find a little information by adding the word "performance" in my search, which I did not do the first time. But feel free to give opinions and please don’t say to get, "blah, blah, blah" seats. I found one of these at a great price and would have to buy one more.
