Forest service trails washed out near East Walker River, NV

Last weekend some friends and I tried to get to the East Walker River in Tuolumne National Forest. It’s about a 6 mile long trail from the graded gravel road to the river. There is quite a bit of elevation drop and the trail goes down a normally dry stream bed down into a canyon. It is always pretty rough, but no problem for my RZR 4 900. Now it is totally impassable. 2-3 foot ruts down the middle of the trail and washouts across the trail, plus there are large boulders now exposed. Got pretty far down the trail but it got so narrow and the ruts and boulders were too big. Almost got it stuck down there, which would have been very difficult to extract.

It was fun to push the limits of the RZR, but it could have turned out pretty bad.

Just want to give a heads up to anyone planning a trip out to that area. I heard from a local that there are a lot of trails like that in that area due to heavy thunderstorms this summer.

Is Polaris Listening..?

Do you think Polaris monitors this forum and others and listens to our feedback as the consumer?

It would appear the XP Turbo has a lot of improvements we all asked for… but did they get those ideas from forums, or their own R&D, written/formal feedback etc?

Polaris, if you ARE listening you really, REALLY need to step up your parts game. My XP1000 has been down for weeks now due to basic hub and brake parts. How does Polaris not have inventory of these to supply to their dealers ASAP? And once the parts finally became available last Friday Polaris informed my dealer they would arrive this Thursday. Does Polaris ship by horse-drawn carriage?

I’m very happy with my machines, and very VERY happy with my dealership (East Bay Motorsports in Hayward, CA) but I cannot say the same about Polaris themselves.

Polaris has the dominant product in the market, but it seems like they are taking that fact, and their customers, for granted. Having the best product alone isn’t enough.

Opinions on my first RZR

Hello all, this is my first post here, so hopefully this is the right thread for this.

I am going to buy a RZR in March, and want to know what everyone would do in my position. Do I buy a 2016 1000 4 seat turbo, or do I buy a used rig that has already been modified and add a aftermarket turbo? What would you do? Thanks for the look. I live in Wyoming btw.

street legal in mi

Glad to be a member !!
Im from the northern area of the lower peninsula of MI. I ride alot in the Huron National Forest as well as around the Mio and Rose City area. I have the 900 Trail RZR and have been slowly getting all the necessary parts to get it street legal only to find out that as of August 24, 2015 the state will not register it as street legal !!

This was a complete shock to me and also a great disappointment as one would figure..

I am joining this group in hopes that when enough people get involved in changing the law back to allowing street legal status as a group we can get it done.

The laws were changed years ago because snowmobiles could ride on street because enough people realized there was no damage being done to the roads and businesses got a lot more patronage.

It is my hope that the same type of "group " of ATV, UTV, and ORV riders can convince the State of Michigan to reveres the laws and again let these machine be street legal as before.

It is interesting that Polaris has essentially sided with the state and said that their machines are not made for off-road use when this ultimately will cost them sales. I would not have purchased my RZR had I known they were aware that this was changing !!

Well that’s my rant and I will be signing the petition on this site I saw earlier.

Thank You,
