Random plug-in under dash in my Rzr 800

I just noticed this random plug in under the dash of my Rzr 800 it has a added 9v battery plug In and a 3 prong plug in. I just wanted to see if anyone knew what it is for. I just assumed it was for a fuel controller but figured I’d just ask. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Ordered some Rugged Radios today

I’m pretty excited I finally bit the bullet and bought some Rugged Radios today. 3 of the blue RH-5R’s. $85 each plus the helmet kits… Can’t beat that. 2 car kits and one dirt bike kit. When we go on the big rides, my wife will be driving the xp1k, my 7 year daughter will be in the RZR170 and I will be on my WR450. My wife’s kit will be the only helmet kit with the I-pod hook up.
My reasoning behind this purchase. My daughter is at the age where she can drive her rzr long distances but I am a bit worried about her being able to judge obstacles and other people on the trail…. When she rode her quad I could easily catch up and yell and she could hear me and if all else failed I could grab some brake on her bars… Never had to test the "grab brake" theory, but if she was about to cross a trail with an XP blasting down it I would have been able to stop her…. It might have been ugly but better then a 90 degree hit at 80mph. Now she will be inside with a lot of blind spots and she won’t be able to see me or my hand signals. Now I can just say "slow down" "stop" or "faster" I will be able to hear her say things like "can we stop and pic those flowers" " Daddy it’s dusty" "I’m hungry" or "what movie are we watching while you guys sit at the fire"

3″ pro armor brackets

so I ordered my 3" proarmor 4 pt harnesses. I didnt want to mess up my orange powder coating on my roll bar to attach the harness and wanted to attach to the brackets pre welded on the roll bar. Well wouldnt you know it, pro armor was so cheap in production, they crammed the 3 in straps into the 2 in harness bracket. I emailed them to see if they had a 3" bracket, which tbey didnt. I found. 3 in dragonfly harness braket at Tremucula.com. Proarmor suggested that the bracket was attached flat for the harness strap had a straight shot. Problem was the bracket on the highlifter was verticle. Some how had to fab a right angle so the belt was pullin at a flat angle.
So, I took the 2" braket and inserted the 3" bracket to make a right angle. Mig welded the 2 together, ground off the hole from the backside of the 3" bracket.
Guess I could have used a piece of angle iron but didnt want to waste the 2" bracket from pro armor. I guess im not too impressed with pro armors cheapness in not making the correct width of bracket. Im wondering if the dragon fly 3" harnesses come with the proper brackets. Here are some pics of mr Mc guyvered brackets.

Rzr 800s front diff question

Pulled the front diff on my 2014 800s to replace the yoke seal. I also split the case to check the bearings. Should the shaft turn freely with the diff out of the machine? I think I may have something fouled up when I put all the internals back in. The shaft is very hard to turn. Any info is appreciated

Rzr vin check.

How can I check a vin to make sure it’s not stolen? Long story short there are some questionable things that don’t seem to clear to me. I want to see if the item is stolen or not before a purchase or turned over to local authorities. Seller claims it comes from another state but has no title just a bill of sale from Indiana but Indiana states they require titles on them.

State police there will not tell me anything on the vin unless my name is on it and the bmv is telling me I need to purchase it before I can check it.

My Personal Rant…Officially Done with Polaris

5 years and 2 rzrs I think I have enough. I will say my 800s was reliable for the year we had it but the 900 has been engine problematic.

First after having to have the motor rebuilt after only 2 years over ownership due to dust ingestion, at a cost over 4k which included shipping. I was thinking ok bad design on the intake system. After the engine was rebuilt I added a UMP filter system so I wouldn’t have a dust problem any longer.

Now this summer it started making engine noise while on our first rally (new engine only had about 800 miles on it at that time) and was giving me hard starting problem. Members on this board suggested it was probably chain slap due to a bad tensioner. Bought the Alba manual chain tensioner and that seamed to solve that particular noise but it still sounded like crap and was blowing some smoke and had a hard time starting. It was suggested that I probably jumped a tooth.

So pulled the valve cover off and sure enough it jumped more than one. One of the mechanics at the Polaris dealer right down the street came over pulled the valve cover after I adjusted the chain and said cams were realigned ok and tried to start it. After it briefly turned over he shut it off immediately because he said it sounded like a valves were toast. He said that the jumping of the chain may have damaged the motor but wouldn’t know for sure until it was torn down.

I just can’t afford to spend another 2-4k on a motor, that’s just insane. I have added 7k in aftermarket products (not counting the first engine rebuild) to make it the way we wanted but at this point I think I’m done.

We love the sport but not at the expense of replacing Polaris engines every 2 years. I have maintained this machine on a regular bases and have no other issues but the engines.

Not sure what I can get with a bum motor but looks like something else will be in our future and won’t be a Polaris.

I realize many have 5k plus miles on theirs and that’s awesome, wish I was one of them:sad:

I am so bummed about this.

Disused and disappointed

anti seize

i used anti seize on my rear bolts (shocks and a arms) and it squeezed out the sides of the bolt, like alot. is there an issue with the anti seize wearing out between the bolt and frame causing the bolt to come loose and egg the holes out?
