Grizzly 700 Special Edition??

The local dealer tells me that the 2015 700’s will be on sale starting June 06. My question is, what is the difference between a regular 700 with power steering and FI and the Special Edition? As far as I can tell it is just fancy paint and decals, am I missing something? Just want to get the correct facts before going to the dealer, Thanks

2007 Grizzly 700 Stator Update and the Yamaha Motor Company

First of all, this is an outstanding forum, and I have learned a lot here. But on to my problem, and lots of other folks problem too, it seems. Recently, my stator fried itself because of the poorly designed non oiling system of my 2007 Grizzly 700. After pricing parts from Yamaha to the tune of $400 plus bucks just to put in a new stator and gasket inside the no oiling cover that came on my bike, basically setting it up to fail again, I came across several threads here with a lot of info about getting it fixed right. Upgrade cover like on the 2009 and up bikes, and all. Even some talk about Yamaha possibly making things right and helping out with the parts. Well, for me, it didn’t happen. I called the 1-800 number, talked with a very helpful Natalie who unfortunately couldn’t authorize anything, and then was transferred to a very much less than helpful Amy. Both readily admitted this has been an ongoing problem with the 2007 and 2008 Grizzly 700, but I was told that any help from Yamaha was NOT gonna happen. And when I asked Amy if there might be anyone else that I might speak to, I got a quick NO. Can this women really be the ultimate spokesperson for Yamaha? I then tried to find someone online with Yamaha that might listen, but the 1-800 number I had already called was the only number I found. Any ideas how to get my rant to someone who might actually be able to do something about it?

Saying goodbye to a friend!

Well boys I got the go ahead from the wife the other night and we decided to pull the trigger on a new 2016 Wolverine. I drove it and knew I would love it that wasn’t the problem, the tough part was I had to sell the Grizz to get it and that was VERY tough. We have been on a lot of rides with some great people over the years and I even rode up on the Grizz in my wedding so it was sad to see it on the trailer leaving…. It was a long time decision coming though and my wife and dog want to ride more than I do sometimes so it was just time, the Grizz was over 6000 miles in and nearly 7 years old, not that it wasn’t working or anything but just getting long in the tooth if ya know what I mean and I got tired of waiting for a new ATV from Yamaha. Most of my friends have converted and I was having a tough time riding 2 up on there trails on top of it all. It was raining when I brought it home but so far the 3 miles I put on the Wolverine have been awesome, I love it so far and can’t wait to get some parts ordered and put some time on it. I’ll post more pic’s as they come and give ya guys a better review when I get around to putting some more miles on it!

Zombie Possum Attack!

I originally posted this in another thread, but decided to give it a life of its own. Here is my story, last night, in dark…..well, let’s rewind the tape a few more days…..

We had a possum in the chicken house earlier in the week, my Catahula curr dog had it mostly dead by the time I got there, I shot it a few more times until it quit moving, approximately ten times, with my nine mm, yeah I guess I need to practice, four feet distance….

Then left it laying for a few days, until wife started complaining, and possum started stinking so I moved it a few yards further from the house, add a few more days, get home last night, kindly asked my wife if she hauled the possum away the day before….(hey, she was complaining and she was using the grizzly on the farm, and as I explained to her, I try not to be a sexist and believe in equal opportunity…) she told me firmly NO WAY! That is mans work!

The possum was smelling bad, that is what made me think about it again.

So last night in the dark, the Grizz was sitting there, jumped on fired it up, drove down to where I had left the dead possum, kinda getting road kill flat, with strong odor, pull my light covers off the rigid duallies for a better look, probably was a bad idea, maggots and other decomposer bugs, well on their way…getting the job done,

So, I carefully pick up the possum by the tail, tail stays on, all good, get on the Grizz, in the dark now, holding possum at full left arms length, throttling and driving with the right hand and away we go, with speed, because possum had odor issues.

About a thousand yards this possum starts jerking on my arm, I am like what the H!!!, So, I gas on the Grizz trying to get to the back forty ditch, about that time the possum gives me a hard jerk, and pulls his tail out of my hand, possum is gone in the tall grass, with a little nervous apprehension about what was after me in the dark or living in the possum ……I finally slow down, and turn around.

wait for it……

wait a little longer….because I was a little nervous

My 100 pound Curr dog came happily jumping in the air past my Grizzly looking for his possum…..lol, He was running beside me leaping up in the air, repeatedly trying to jerk the bobbing possum out of my hand…….lol.

If that would have happened to my wife, I would have probably slept on the sofa.

That is what I did with my Grizzly last night.
