i live and work between a very large dealer (atv/motorcycle/snow, all brands) and a medium dealer (no polaris). I needed a lug nut a couple weeks ago – and neither of them had one in stock. My buddy has ordered parts for his 450 wolverine from the large dealer (he works in that city), they have never had anything in stock. The only thing they had were some front brake pads for my old 2002 big bear and I think that was pure luck on my end that they actually had some aftermarket ones.
Do they wonder why people order from rocky mountain or other parts sites? I have no problem with going out of my way a little bit to a dealer to have parts that day, but if I have to wait, I might as well save my gas money and just pay the $7 to have it delivered to my house. Maybe its just a yamaha thing, maybe its because my grizzly is an 07. I just found it hard to believe they didn’t have a single lug nut? that can’t be that uncommon of a part? I want to support them, and i understand you can’t have everything, but there are some parts they should have on hand…. filters, fluids, common nuts/bolts, a spare rim/tire?
Do you guys buy many parts online? Like I said, I don’t even mind paying a little more from a dealer, but if I have to wait on it anyways, I can usually get it online for the same price or cheaper anyways (this is my situation since I don’t live or work close enough to a dealer to justify not buying it online).
I have an 07 grizzly 450 and it just started acting up. I was in high gear and 2wd when it suddenly made a squealing noise and stopped moving. I shut it off and when I turned it back on, It will not move in high gear. It drives in neutral and in low. Nothing in reverse or high, and will not free roll in neutral?? any ideas?

I often speak of my "Brother". He is actually my best friend, but he is my brother in every sense other than genetics. I am a firm believer in adoption, and we basically adopted eachother as brothers years ago.
His grandma, "Me-Ma", had become better than my own grandmas ever were over the years. Feisty old lady with a good sense of humor and a kind heart.
I got a call this morning that she passed away last night. Had a heart attack and died before medics could get there.
I’m sharing this because I passed on going over there earlier in the week because I was tired, ankle hurt, and generally just wanted to take the night off. I passed on my last chance to see her, and am hating myself right now because of it.
I’m not wanting any sympathy. I just want any of you out there that still have your grandmas to give her a call and tell her you love her.
Found this interesting and happen to come across this in the local paper…
Burro Days (Get Your Ass Up the Pass!)
Fairplay, Colorado
Quick! What’s the only sport indigenous to Colorado? That’s right: pack-burro racing, in which competitors lead (not ride) their burro companions along mountainous paths. The pace of individual competitors can range from a flat-out run to a stand-still (stubborn as a __), but it’s certainly a physically demanding competition in high altitude.
Ok, first and foremost. I am not getting rid of my grizzly and this is not in any way a replacement for it, whew! I was able to pick up an 08 brute force 650 for CHEAP. The bike is in decent shape but not great, I’m fighting the no start which seems to be a common thing for these. The guy that had it said it ran and he rebuilt the carbs and now wont start. Its getting plenty of fuel and no spark to either coil. The bike cranks like it wants to start but again no spark to either plugs. I don’t have a manual for it, and want to start diagnosing instead of just throwing parts at it. I don’t see both coils going bad at the same time, I read about the cdi and roll over switch as common problems but was wondering how to test or if there’s something easier to check/test first, any help is appreciated. ( it will have to run before I take any "sell it and get another Grizzly" suggestions but that may be an option later, lol)
