New Ride…CF Moto ZForce 800 EX EPS

I’ve been in the market for a new SxS for a while now. I new what features I wanted. But, finding those features in something I could afford was a little tough. I did a lot of research. I was really considering the Wolverine for a while, but I couldn’t pay that much for something that heavy with a single cylinder. I wanted 2 pistons. My research showed that many people were having very good luck with CF Moto. They also offer the most standard features for the best price. So about 3 1/2 weeks ago we pulled the trigger. So far I love it. My wife loves it too. That’s a huge plus.

It is the best of all worlds. It has a chassis and suspension similar to a RZR S 800. The engine is similar to a Can-Am. But the clutch and 4×4 system is similar to Yamaha.

Here are some pics at the beginning and end of it’s first ride.

How do you secure your machine?

For the time being I’m gonna have to let the old 4×4 set out back next to my garage. But I’m not too happy with it just sitting out in the open and am wondering what would be a good way to deter thieves. First it’ll be covered of course from top to bottom. Second I guess I’ll be digging big a** hole and filling it with probably around 500lbs of concrete with a giant 1" diameter loop of rod sticking out the top. It’ll actually be a huge U-bolt clamp I’ll get from a local fastener company. Using this I’ll try to physically secure it looping some hardened chain through what part of the atv I don’t know.

Only other idea (which is a bit far fetched I’ll admit) is to hook up some kind of alarm system by way of a cable like you see sometimes on store merchandise out for display. I assume it would be hooked up to a loud speaker. Again I know this one is going somewhat overboard but considering how easily the quad could be jacked it might be the one deterrent that keeps it safe.

Open to your suggestions

PS. Don’t really live in a bad neighborhood but the neighborhood kids are through my back yard all the time especially at night…thus the need for security.

This thread is about BEER!

Ya know you love it. So what is it you have to say about beer? Favorites, brewing, great beer story, what you’re having…

I’l start it off with my beer just opened after working in the yard all day moving around a bunch of dirt. Damn it tastes good! Although right now I bet any beer would taste good.

A 2016 needs 200 miles to break in?

I just bought a new Grizzly and the owners manual says it needs 200 miles or 20 hours to break in. That seems really high to me. I looked at my old Honda Rincon manual and Honda recommends 15 miles for break in. Big difference!

What does everybody think, 15 miles or 200?

BTW- I have the stock wheels and tires for sale if anyone is interested….never been on the ground.

Anyone with daughters in college? Advice?

My 18 year old is going off to college at U of Denver next month. Having a hard time dealing with her being so far away and outside my immediate control of emergencies and such. 12 hours drive means I get there after she needed me…

Really feel like a piece of my heart is getting ripped out, but trying not to let her see. Looking for any advice some of you may have that have gone before me, on how to deal with it. Any "check in at home" procedures you may have used that give you peace of mind without being a control freak to the child.

She is a strong, determined, mature, and a level headed girl, but also a boy magnet and very small. My mind runs away at all the terrible things a dad can imagine, and literally going insane here..
