Does anyone have a Powermax ATV that has had electrical problems, gas leaks and the throttle sticking. Mine did from about 55 km until it caught fire and exploded a little while ago with just over 900 km on it. If you have one or know someone who has one this could happen to them. I hope it is ok to post this message here because it may stop someone from getting hurt.
Also Powermax ATV’s are made in China and made with cheap low quality parts that are easy to brake and wear out. They have little power for hauling and can get easily stuck even in four wheel drive.
If any salesperson tells you otherwise they are only trying to make a sale and if you buy a POWERMAX you will find out soon enough.
Today on Dirt Wheels facebook page they posted this up…
Still no guarantee of much truth behind it, but hey, more hype!!
150 HORSEPOWER FOR YAMAHA’S
SECRET NEW PERFORMANCE UTV?!
Our undercover moto-spies are saying it will have this 1050cc 3-cylinder engine. Will it beat the new Turbo RZR? Stay tuned as we dig up more inside info.
I have been reading this forum daily for about a year. I just want to say thank you for all the great info on here. I have learned SO much just from reading this site. I used to have a buddy do 100% of all the maintenance etc on my quad. I did absolutely nothing on my own. Very limited mechanical skills and tools. Always scared to break something as opposed to fixing it. The only thing I did on my own was clean air filter.
Since I started reading GC, this has all changed. This is what I have done on my own: changed all fluids, flushed /replaced Cooling system fluids, replaced front brakes, replaced rear wheel bearings, replaced rear cv axles, serviced primary and secondary (with a few pm’s to Ridgeway) added shim, changed some bushings. I know doing all this is super easy to most of you. But for me it’s a giant leap! And I just love doing it all on my own.
So, thank you very much to all the knowledge members on here. I really appreciate it!!

Short notice, however if the weather is clear, go out and enjoy the shooting stars. I spent about an hour and forty minutes outside in the lawn chair and watched over 30 shoot across the sky. Absolutely amazing.
Next year we’ll camp on a peak and enjoy it together. Until, go outside and look up.
Cheers:peace:
So far I only have one complaint with this thing. The storage on the top where the gas tank used to be is awesome, but oh my god does it get hot in there. I love the power delivery of the new motor and clutching. I swapped out the factory wheels and tires for my factory 12’s off my 2014 700 SE and put a new set of 25" STI Outback’s on it. I have already decided that since this thing is so much quieter than my Grizzly 700 and a little smaller and easier to get around in the woods that this will be my new hunting rig. I plan on upgrading my 2014 700 SE to a 2017 next year at this time so hopefully that will give everyone time to get all the aftermarket clutching and programmers lined out.
Now me, my wife and daughter all have nice 4×4 rigs to ride and we do ride quite a bit.
I’m very new to atv’s I’ve ridden them but never actually owned one. 3 days ago I went to the local dealership and purchased a brand new 2014 grizzly 700. I test drove several wheelers but nothing compared to this one. I got it home and I’ve got almost 4hrs of easy riding on it. But i hear a weird noise coming from the right side of the wheeler when I’m accelerating.its hard to describe its not like a SUPER loud noise but it’s noticeable. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried or not? I really can’t tell if it’s closer to the front or back. But it’s definitely on the right side. Any discussion or advice on this might set my mind at ease or possibly make me bring the thing back to the dealership! Thanks guys!
For me, I can go through life and to often not appreciate ‘SOME" things in life that we should simply appreciate more. So here is a thread that we can be thankful, sometimes we don’t know what we are thankful for until it doesn’t work.
So, here is a chance for all to share, try and place a positive spin on the wording, like a politician….lol.

Recently did a boot swap on the old 700 Grizz and found a boogered up thread on the top knuckle ball joint.
Can I just order the part and replace this piece myself or does this have to be done by a prof. mechanic? What tool do I use to get it out? Some kind of press maybe?
