Steel wheels, waste of money?

Well here I am 10 days into my first quad, and as I let my dad take it for a spin, and I followed him on his machine, I realized the right rear tire wobbled, and at closer inspection saw deep gouges. Annoying to realize I’d been had maybe by the only previous owner, but also a good excuse to get new wheels. I have looked and looked, and really don’t like the fancy SUV style "rims". I honestly like the simple, black, steel ITP wheels. Am I wasting my time with these wheels? I am about as mechanically inclined as the couch I sit on, so I know no different. I’m not crawling, wheeling or swamping my new quad (yet), and just want to hear some advice from those who actually know a thing or two about a thing or two. Also, the stock tires (334 miles) are pretty worthless, and the consensus I seem to be seeing is the bighorns, good idea?? Please let me know if I’m making a mistake with these wheels, or what I should do. I’m money conscious but not dead broke, so if theres something I should save for, please let me know. Also, will I damage anything by continuing to ride with a wobbly tire?
Thanks
Tyler

ITP SS112 vs SS212

I recently purchased a set of 27" Zillas for my 2014 Grizzly SE, then decided to order a set of ITP SS212 for them also, got the call and went and had them installed, never notice till I got home that they were the ITP SS112….the 212’s are now ordered and they realized there mistake…….but my question is the more I look at them the more i’m not sure which ones I like better………..what are you guys’s opinions out there……thanks

wolverine R Spec 6 month review

Well I just realized it has been 6 months since the wolverine was purchased (lil girl turned 6 months the other day ALREADY)

Over at the wolverine forums I notice more and more GC guys popping up with future purchases and new purchases .. as I don’t care much for that forum but I know alot of guys here are sharing the motor with the grizz I figured why not post it here instead.

First off I have about 2200 kilometers on it now 2 oil changes and one major service.
We will start with a list of small issues that have come up.
1. the springs on the kyb shocks have sagged slightly 1/2 inch. This was corrected with a small amount of preload and have had no issue since.
2. The coolent system seams to hold air at one spot so it was constantly dropping fluid level for the first 3 hundred K
3. I don’t get to ride it as much as I want t
4. It has the same lean issue as the grizz and runs very hot exhaust temps but not engine temps.
As far as things I like and have done I am sure most of you know from the other post I have made. One thing is for sure the machined primary slightly lighter weights and a stronger secondary woke this thing up quite well. It now has quite a bit of pep in its step and am very happy with the results.

Now with clutching I am thinking of going to Growlers 27.5 but I may wait till the big horns wear off. I have had not one hiccup with the machine not one trail fix not one "hmm moment" I am very please and very glad I bought yamaha.
Again ot is not a race machine and feel it earns the same rep as the grizzly with the very good at everything machine. And will kill other brands in rock crawling and climbing. (Proven not speculated)

It proved well as a utility hauling firewood it proved well as a fun machine drifting corners with ease. I for one would recommend this machine to anyone looking at this class of utv and will say you won’t be disapointed. I do still have an itch for the yxz 1000 but can’t justify it at this point with my available riding time. And pictures of rides also lack as my photographer had a kid 6 months ago and I focus on beer more then the camera .. I promise to get better in the spring …I promise

Future plans will be changing the green front to satin black (green drives nuts when everything else is black.
Better stereo
And a folding front windshield

How many days at Royal Blue?

I want to plan a trip to royal blue this spring. I have never been there before. I will have some family members with me and we are looking for some nice relatively mild trails. How much riding is there? 2 days, 3 days, a week? Looking for some ideas from someone who’s been there. Thanks

Good Jeep club site?

I’m in the market for a new Jeep and I’m wanting to find a good Jeep club/forum site like Grizzly Central is for Yamaha Grizzlys. More specifically I’m looking for a Jeep Wrangler site.

My old Yahoo Jeep site has pretty much disintegrated. Only about 140 members and we get about 2 or 3 topics per week. Mostly 80’s and 90’s Cherokees and Grands.

Anyways, seeing that lots of you enjoy going off road, thought someone might have a good connection!

Thanks!
