New Jeep Cherokee Model to Get 707-HP Hellcat Engine

Following the success of Fiat Chrysler’s two Hellcat muscle cars – high-powered versions of the Dodge Charger sedan and Challenger coupe, — the automaker is planning to put the 707-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine that powers them into a new model of its popular Jeep Cherokee, sources say.
Several Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) insiders confirmed a report by Car and Driver on Thursday that the Jeep brand is getting ready to launch a 707-horsepower SUV that will be known as the Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk. The vehicle is expected to make its debut in summer 2016, they said.
Fiat Chrysler officials this week have been briefing dealers about plans to expand the Hellcat line during their annual retail get-together in Las Vegas. They’re also advising dealers that they’ve boosted production capacity for the Hellcat engine. Demand has been so strong that orders for the 2015 models had to be cut off well before the end of the model-year.

Second Chance?

Hey guys, I’ve been out riding for the last three days with three good friends from Illinois and have had a chance to clear my head.

If I’m still welcome here, I’d like to re-boot this whole situation. I do really enjoy the forum and its something I look forward too when I get home from work.

The last thing I want is to get booted.

I’ll make a commitment to only address topics that I have direct experience with. I would also like to end the snide comments that have been made by me and others directed at me.

I’m ready for a total refresh here.

I have three more riding days ahead of me, so far its been absolutely phenomenal and I will be posting up quite a few pictures in the next few days. Its going to end up being a 250 mile week.

Hey Brad….Red Cone is tomorrow!

Using a dry-van or sea-can for storage

Anyone on here use a dry-van or seacan for storage? I did some trading and ended up with a 48′ fibreglass van. It has a small amount of damage to one front corner but is otherwise intact. My tiny garage is becoming more of a workshop and I’ll be using the van to store the machines until I build myself a proper shop. My plan is to leave it on the wheels for now, build a steel ramp dock for the back and add a rollup door to the front where the damage is. I’ll be storing my tractor, chipper and mowers in the back end and the Grizzly in the front end. I’d like to add some salvaged RV windows, at least a couple roof vents, some form of lighting, shelving and a work bench. Don’t have any pics but it should be in my yard in the next month or so. I’m only into it for the equivalent of about $1k and it will only need to last me 4-6 years. If anyone on here has gone a similar route I’d like to hear about it. Thanks

Parts Compatibility

Greetings grizzly nation!

I am a new user to the forum, not sure exactly where would be best to post my questions, so I thought I would start here.

A quick background: I have 2, 2002 Grizzly 660’s, recently one was wrecked. Going to have to replace the whole right front wheel/suspension assembly, from the frame out. Also the headlight bezel, and front grill guard.

Looking to pick up everything I can from good used parts sites, ebay, etc., but they can be vague on part numbers, and descriptions.

My specific questions are:

1- Are there other model year 660’s that ALL of the parts are compatible with my 2002’s? (i.e. 2003 thru 2008)

2- The Clymer repair manual covers the 2002-2008 model years, so does that mean the parts for all those machines are interchangeable?

Hoping to not have to research compatibility on every single part I want to buy if it is from another model year. Any help from a good knowledgeable source would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Tryin to get this brake bleed thing straight

Long story short I had to disconnect my right front caliper to do some other work and now that it’s all back together I need to refill and bleed that brake line. First time doing this and to the best of my knowledge the only two ‘line ends’ I’ll need to work with are my right handlebar reservoir and the bleed valve on the caliper itself. Considering the caliper I took off are there any other parts on the bike besides these I need to be concerned about?

Now insofar as back bleeding vs. top down bleeding goes…I understand that since bubbles rise, only doing a top down bleed leaves open the possibility of leaving some bubbles in the vertical brake line. But since the bleed valve on the caliper is an inch or more above where the banjo bolt brake fluid lines comes in (on my bike anyway) you would have to do at least some top down bleeding to make sure all the bubbles escape from the caliper out the higher positioned bleed valve. Together these two ideas imply that it might be best to do both some top down and bottom up bleeding. Any thoughts?

Anybody have a somewhat educated idea of how quickly air bubbles rise in the vertical line between the caliper banjo bolt and the handle? If they rise slowly enough seems like it would be possible to bleed the whole thing by doing only a top down.
